How do we get there? We are staying at POR. I'm assuming we just take the bus to MK and then go from there. Do the buses run that early? Or are there special buses for character breakfasts?

Yes, you take the bus to MK... Then take the quick monorail ride over... There will be buses running to the MK at that time of morning.... No worries.

The other thing you can do once you arrive at the Magic Kingdom bus station is to use the walkway to the Contemporary since it's right there, without having to walk towards the Monorail station.

As for the character breakfast buses others have reported their bus driver dropping them off at the Contemporary once they let all the guests out at the Magic Kingdom, however that does not happen everyday and is not an official Disney policy for them to follow. So if that hapens for you consider it some pixie dust.

I agree with the poster who suggested taking a bus to MK and then walking to the Comtemporary.

It's a really nice walk at that time of day, and will be much faster than walking up the monorail ramp, waiting for the monorail, boarding and riding.

You'll see the bunnies running around the bushes, too!

Last year, staying at the POR also, we had the first seating in the morning. I think it was for 7:00a.m. We caught the bus at our resort at 6:30. Believe it or not, there were alot of people on this bus going to the CR. The bus driver drove us right to the front door of the CR. Very nice! We were there in plenty of time.
