First of all, I would like to thank everyone again for helping to make my vacation at USF wonderful. I had a most relaxing and fun time. Now on to the good stuff
Our first day went without a hitch! We used Tiffany and the driver Bob Becker was prompt, courtesy, and accommodating. We couldnt have asked for more! He gave us the choice of letting him bring the car around and we meet him or whether we wanted him to take our luggage curb side and he get the car. Since we travel smartly, one carryon thats not heavy and a suitcase on wheels per person, we wanted him bring the car around instead. Once we got to RPH, it was much the same way, check-in was smooooooth. All the staff was friendly and accommodating. Btw, we arrived at 2:30pm and our room was ready. We rested for about an hour, explored the hotel grounds and headed to Latin Quarters. I had the grilled salmon, KC (son) had the roast pork and flan for desert and my husband (EC) had the seafood dish with all the clams, mussels, shrimp in a cream sauce and the key lime for dessert. They both shared the Tres Amigos appetizer. I had a maguerita for dessert! We headed over to US after dinner. It was about 7:30pm and raining when we arrived. We went directly in TD2. The keycard really came in handy at this attraction. We then did ET, BTTF and MIB 3 times. KC was determined to outscore his embarrassing parents. Too bad I knocked his socks the first time!!! Hee hee. Our team managed to be the top team, Cosmic something or other. Twice. That was the only time we held that title throughout our vacation.
Next Day. I got up early that morning at 6:30am and headed to the gym. I spent 35 minutes on the steps and headed to the secluded whirlpool spa in the back. IT WAS HEAVEN. I had it to all myself every time. I wonder if anyone new about it. Towels, water pitchers, etc were never disturbed when I arrived. Like I said, heaven! The gym is fully stocked to meet every need. It was BETTER stocked than my room. I made this my solo ritual every morning. After I returned refreshed, showered and ready for the day, we spent the morning at IOA, had lunch at Mythos, and spent the stormy afternoon watching 8-Legged Freaks and MIB. When the rains let up we headed back to IOA and stayed to watch the fireworks. What a great day! The next day was just as much fun. My morning ritual and we went to US first. We ate breakfast at the Monster Café, enjoyed the park and then went to see Reign of Fire and Road to Perdition during the afternoon storms, and headed back to IOA that afternoon. Lunch was two turkey legs between the three of us and drinks in the Discovery Center at JP. We ate dinner at Bob Marley and EC got to participate in the lighting of the torch in honor of Bob Marleys legacy. The food was ok, very very spicy and KC didnt care for it too much.
Now for some downers when we check our folio that night, we had room charges for the day and valet parking charges and a movie charge. Bare in mind, we did not have a car at this point, our hotel stay was pre-paid, and we did not watch a movie. They removed them when I called. There was an attempt to question the valet charges when the front desk questioned me about my black durango. Told him nope, we didnt own one, but will to take any freebies he had available. Just to let you know, these valet charges popped up everyday. The guy with the black durango most likely had valet free of charge for his entire stay. Those who were not charged for valet had their charges probably showing up on somebody elses bill. Also housekeeping deteriorates as the week went on to the point of sheer grossness and TV internet becomes a joke, but I will discuss the sorted details in Part II.
I will also post the Disney Quest and AK portion on the other trip board.
Part II will be up soon.
