Why do think Disney released and srted booking for these cruises so much earlier than the 2007 European cruises ?

We booked the Med cruise on release day which I think was April 6th 2006 15 months before sailing. This time we all booked on release day which was 21 months before sailing.

Do you think DCL think they may have problems getting people to fill up all the cruises with this economic situation or they knew that us mad, nutty compulsive planners enjoy the months and months and months and months of gossiping...I mean planning :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Now that is something that I do know, and actually have a pack of them sitting on my counter. I like them, but DH really likes them.

Oh shame....does that mean you get to have them all to yourself hee, hee, hee

My thought is DCL wanted the extra revenue to have on hand to help pay for the 2 new ships. Also, they probably wanted to see what kind of interest there would be in these itineries so they can put one of the older ships or take one of the new ships back in the not so distant future.
I would probably go on another cruise to the area after this one. It gives us a summer vacation that gets us away from the heat and humidity. Can't stand the summer with the 3 H's - hazy, hot and humid.

I'll be nice and share, because I have a really big Bourneville bar that I get all to myself since no one likes dark chocolate around here. :mickeybar :smooth:

If they plan on doing Alaskan, Arctic cruises then they won't be able to use either the Magic or the Wonder as cruise ship that sail those seas have to be specially constructed to withstand the ice, so one of the new ships would have to be used, if DCL were going to go there.

I can sure your point of getting all those deposit dollars. I bet that adds up to a pretty penny.

Not to mention the fact their upper decks are so open with no retractable roof. We did enjoy on that on Carnival Splendor; sitting by the pool, watching the seas having b'fast or lunch and NOT being cold or wind blown.

I forgot about them wanting to go to Alaska.

I think the Baltics will fill up fairly well with Yanks & Brits 2 people divided by a common language!:upsidedow

Count us in for cruisers wanting to go to Alaska! We are so hoping they are going to go there. We wouldn't need plane tickets! Just drive about 20 minutes!(assuming they left from Seattle and not Vancouver BC!)

I really, really do hope that they go to Alaska I've always wanted to go there, maybe I would even forego our family Masai Mara safari trip in 2012 if DCL were to put one of the new ships on that route.

You already have a trip planned for 2012?!?
Our friends think we are crazy enough having something booked for 2010.

:) :) :) Don't worry it's only family talk at the moment. For the last 4-5 years we've always talked about doing a safari.

Our boys are mad about that sort of thing (I mean Josh our 12 year old has know since he was about 6 that he want's to be a marine biologist !!!) So we said that we'd do it once the boys were old enough to appreciate it and also old enough to put up with the confines of a safari without whining and wingeing and generally spoiling our holiday and also everyone ele's who was with us. So that being said we thought that after their barmitzvahs would be a good time as a) we could celebrate their barmitzvahs and b) we could afford it. So as Josh's is 2009 and Ethans is 2011 then 2012 is it.

So there you go, a long story but now you know

DD will be graduating high school that year and I have a feeling she'll want to go back to Australia IF we decide to give her a trip for graduation and she gets to choose where to go. Otherwise, she would probably pick Ireland to go back to. We would be open for either trip.
In fact, my avatar is DD standing on the beach in Australia summer 2007.

That's so funny, Ethan wants to have his barmitzvah in Australia !!!! One of my oldest girlfriends lives in Melbourne and we've been to visit a couple of times. The last time was in 2005 when we spent 3 weeks touring around and we all had a mind blowingly fantastic holiday.

BTW we said "NO" to Ethans request :lmao: :lmao:

Oh my gosh I just got a call from DCL.

I faxed in my request for the private room at Palo for brunch on one of our sea days this morning. I read somewhere that they process them on a first come, first served basis so I thought "it's never too early". Anyway the lady from IC just called to confirm that she has my fax and she has date and time stamped it and will review the request about 60 days prior to sailing when she will call me to get the confirmation numbers of all the adults who will be participating.

Oh WOW :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

That's great news for you.

Now who was it that I sent a PM to so that I could get my name on a brunch list?!? We need to get them to fax IC that request for the private room.
