Well here is my input!:happytv:

I have learned that there is some sort of TA meeting in FLA with DCL tomorrow & I have 2 travel agents on the trail of the truth!:dance3:

I have instructed that if the repo is repo'd to 7/30 to book me & if there is a change of itinerary reserve & let me know for a decision!:confused3

Who knows Andrew maybe we will be cruising together 2 years in a row~:rolleyes1:rolleyes:

Thank you for the update. At least it looks like it will not drift too long, and hopefully they will announce quickly what they will do.

Just a quick hello to all.

It's been really busy here. DD is scheduled to give birth to our first DGD on Thurs., God willing. I would greatly appreciate any prayers you can spare for a safe delivery and a healthy baby.

Oh, if they do a cruise to Greece in 2011, I just might be tempted to jump off the Alaska cruise and do that. Hopefully they'll decide soon.

Hope it works out for you Andrew. The stress is not good for you.

So exciting. I'm sure you are anxiously awaiting her arrival.
We'll definately need updates and pictures.

My cousin's DD is scheduled for a c-section on 11/24, which is the baby's great-grandmother's birthday. My aunt is so excited and can't wait for her b'day gift to arrive.

I'll be praying for her as well!

Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers. I'll post as soon as I can.

PS. I've already told Tom to take away my room key when we go to WDW in Feb. I don't think I'll be rational about shopping in DTD World of Disney store. Princesses, Bibbity Boppity Boutique..................:cloud9:

Yes, I have been to NY, bit the kids haven't, and this is where its coming from, I am currently *lost* for ideas, if the 11 night Med is pulled, this is one option, they came up with New York and Alaska, I wanted to throw in Niagara, Loved the maid of the mist, when I did that before, we stayed in Toronto, and Niagara for that in the past.

So thats one option, but long flights might throw that out.

Others....

DREAM do not like short cruises, even B2B I do not like Nassau, and 3 or 4 stops at CC overkill.

TRANSATLANTIC; If its offered 7/30 x Barcelona thats an option, like 14 night cruise, cheap per day, one flight back, Saturday to Saturday thats better, but..... 5 days at sea, funny port times...aggghhhhhhh.

Can do 10 night on 20th July, too early.

Considering pulling out and do RCCL, have their brochure here today for the Med.

Now the kids have just said Australia! With Virgin?

If you're looking at the East Coast, you might also want to consider D.C.

New York is great, of course. But D.C. has a lot to see and do, and most of it is free. (And of course it has the air & space museum - which is worth the trip all by itself).

MaryAnn, they take credit cards as well as your room key. :rotfl2: :headache: :lmao:

At least neither of you work for The Mouse and are buying for a little girl. That's even worse, you just keep buying because you save so much money. :scared1: :headache: :sad2: Oh the money I could have saved if I hadn't worked for The Mouse and had a DD to buy for. :headache:

I can't say not working for the Mouse saved me any money.:sad2::sad2:
Little girls are just too fun to spoil! Especially a granddaughter!:lovestruc:love::lovestruc

Dan I'm going to throw in a girl's opinion on the Air & Space Museum... :cloud9: :confused3 . I didn't like it when I was there in grade school and didn't like it when I chaperoned DD's school trip when she was in 4th grade. She didn't like it either.

But overall D.C. is a good place to visit and all the free places to visit are a bonus. Plus there's lots of green space to relax.

Funny story before DD went there in 4th grade. The teacher was talking about what museums they were going to and that they would be walking the mall to get from one to another...well she was so excited because she was going to the mall. Boy was she disappointed when we got there and she found out the mall was a big patch of green grass and walkways. :rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl2: :lmao:
She was so mad because I never told her there were no stores only grass. She never asked what stores were at the mall, I just agreed with her that's where we would be going. I still get a 'look' when I bring that up. :upsidedow

Another girl input, I got bored in the Air & Space Museum too. My husband really enjoyed it though. The American History museum was good. I did like FBI headquarters.

I was lucky enough to take the FBI tour before the stopped doing tours (post 9/11) - it was great.
I also love the American History museum. The Newseum and Spy Museum are also great. And I'm very fond of the National Archives - I got a real kick seeing the cancelled check that was used to buy Alaska.
But Air and Space is definitely my favorite.

Point is, given the choice between New York and DC, for me at least it's a very tough decision.

We are using them, it is Caro & I and DD16 & DD11.

Let me clarify for my DH! Laurie, we'd love to join together with your family in St Petersburg! Now we just need 4 more!
Cool:cool1:
Our kids are pretty close in age too, so should work well...
Pretty sure Barb said the vans hold 14, but since we will need at least one seat for the shopping bags:rolleyes1 we should probably stop at 12-13;)
What did you think of the proposed itinerary? This is the port I am most looking forward to and I was thinking of squeezing in some extra things in the evening maybe:upsidedow
I think we need to do certain buildings during the day when they are open though so will probably stick to the main sites then.

So have any of the east coasters floated away for got blown away from this storm? I can't remember the last time we had a nor'easter hang around for so long and it's still not over yet. :scared1:
We didn't seem to have it that bad:confused3 Just the expected rain:rolleyes:
Turned out Saturday was gorgeous in Charlottesville VA:goodvibes So we got to watch my son march with the UVA marching band:woohoo:
The weather has been crazy though:sad2:

I just read this in a Mouse for Less email:

Disney Cruise Line announced the character that will be featured on the stern of the Disney Dream. It's Sorcerer Mickey! All Ears is also reporting that the new ship may be able to plan several melodies on the ships horn with new technology.

I found it rather interesting aobut the ships horn.
That will be great:thumbsup2
Love that horn.

Just a quick hello to all.

Prayers for your DGD:grouphug:

Sharing a birthday makes it easier to remember them:thumbsup2
Prayers that all goes well.

 yeah don't blame her, when I hear the word mall I always think of the shopping one too

I have to say though that I liked the air and space museum (not as much as the natural history museum though) but that may be because I am a bit of a science geek:confused3
No flight simulator though:sick:
My kids are not crazy about the place, but they have been several times on field trips so they are pretty burnt out.

So much to see and do in DC- (even living near-by we haven't done everything).

I forgot about the National Archives, that's interesting too.

I think we need to do certain buildings during the day when they are open though so will probably stick to the main sites then.

We had 12 on our tour it was a good number with a couple of extra seats. The guide sat up front and we could all hear her pointing out things as we were driving.
Really none of us bought much in StP. We only did a couple of stops for shopping and bathroom breaks. We didn't look in the shops at the museums and didn't go to any of the kiosk markets near the Church of the Savior of the Spilt Blood. We ended up with a couple of t-shirts, a small watercolor, and a couple of pieces of amber jewelry. In the ship's shop there was a lot of StP merchandise for sale we just bought it there since the prices were comporable. Not sure if DCL will do the same. That was the only city that did that for. There is a shop at the port, but it was so crowded in there and we were tired we didn't stay long to look around, so we didn't buy anything there. The places we stopped at had the prices in rubles, euros and US$ - we opted to pay in rubles since we had gotten them from the atm.

I have been to DC before, and its on the list but not too high up, NEW YORK is top of my kids list, then Australia, you couldn't get further apart, NY with Alaska is going through a feasibility study, ;) but I am not too pleased with DCL so will await the outcome of these DCL TA Meetings.

Issues are restirctions of time off in one go ie If I go to USA I try for 21 days, but now 14 days in one go, plus weekends is it.

Flights the Mrs has said no more long flights!!!:scared1:
