Good afternoon from here, and top of the morning to you.
Good Morning All

Need advise from those who travel the Atlantic from time to time. Trying to avoid jetlag as much as possible.
Would you prefer to arrive in London at 6:00 a.m or 6:00 p.m. and why do you think it is better?
Thanks for the help.
Hopefully she will be able to use the DVD since I believe they use a different system.
Thanks all for your thoughts on the flights. You all seem to have the same process for time change. That helps quite a bit.
Great idea on eating at the airport instead of plane. I had not thought of this, but it seems like a wise choice...and tastier?
Good Sunday to all!
OK, all you north American experts, I am just looking at alternatives.
A plan B, I am considering if my 2011 Cruise is pulled and a local alternative is not offered is this:-
- London > Toronto
- Niagara Falls.
- Toronto> Vancouver.
- Cruise. Alaska.
- Vancouver >New York, herd this place maybe good.
- New York London.
Now thinking about flights and logistics,
I think an open jaw flight London> Toronto return New york London say with BA. And then say Air Canada open jaw. Toronto>Vancouver, and Vancouver New York.
Does that look complicated? or would that be the best option?
The other is BA return NY, and flights to Vancouver form there.
How long are the flights to Vancouver?
If you want to do Niagara Falls, I would do the first choice -- fly to Toronto, see Niagara as a day trip from there, fly from Toronto to Vancouver, then Vancouver to NYC, NYC to London. Niagara falls is too far from NYC to be done easily. If you decide not to do Niagara, I would do the RT NYC with a RT NYC-Vancouver between. The flight from NYC to Vancouver will be about 5 hours.
Am I remembering correctly that Steven and Alice have not been to NYC? That could be a lot of fun for them . . .
Yes, I have been to NY, bit the kids haven't, and this is where its coming from, I am currently *lost* for ideas, if the 11 night Med is pulled, this is one option, they came up with New York and Alaska, I wanted to throw in Niagara, Loved the maid of the mist, when I did that before, we stayed in Toronto, and Niagara for that in the past.
So thats one option, but long flights might throw that out.
Others....
DREAM do not like short cruises, even B2B I do not like Nassau, and 3 or 4 stops at CC overkill.
TRANSATLANTIC; If its offered 7/30 x Barcelona thats an option, like 14 night cruise, cheap per day, one flight back, Saturday to Saturday thats better, but..... 5 days at sea, funny port times...aggghhhhhhh.
Can do 10 night on 20th July, too early.
Considering pulling out and do RCCL, have their brochure here today for the Med.
Now the kids have just said Australia! With Virgin?
Really Andrew Niagara Falls step by step inch by inch Mo Larry Cheese Wewwwwwww Wewwwwww! Okay that was my 3 stooges for today!
I am up for a mid summer repo if I can get the right accommodations I will be right there with you Andrew Probably do the NCL cruise out of Venice first!![]()
Firstly, you haven't been on the booze this early have you???
Next TA if 7/30 is an option, but I do not like 5 sea days in a row, port times on the Sept one for the Caribbean bit are not favorable. But 5 extra hours in bed, and good value PD, is an option.
Await DCL information.
I'm guessing that info. should be available tomorrow if they've pulled the site already? Seems rather off keeping you all second guessing. I'd love the Alaska NYC thing, but 2011 is not good for us as have commitments with BIL for the October - hoping for 2012 instead! I'm not wishing my life away you understand, just the usual Disney OCD kicking in!

Well yes, I hope for news on Monday, I have my TA on it.
My big worry, is the silly Back to Back 2010>2011 Med cruises, will now put them off Europe. It seems a very sudden move, hence, the lack of PLAN B, being advertised by DCL.
Unless bigger and better things are coming, like Eastern Med, to spice up the flagging sales, be bold DCL, don't retreat! That would explain, the TA still on offer, in September.

My last post here, has got me thinking.
Now there is a 6 week gap, here, time for say 3 x 14 day cruises, that would explain why the TA in September is still on sale, and a good PR release for something to spice up the Med sailings.
Or a string of cruises, Barcelona to Venice, Venice say to Greece, then Back.
A tie in with Adventures ashore by Disney?

No more news today re the Med in 2011, ''RedSox68'' on the main forum has posted some DCL response thats very helpful. DCL say not suspended, but they are not taking any booking, while they review the position.
Firstly they better check an English dictionary, as I say thats suspension of bookings, but anyway, the question is, due to poor sales, they stop bookings, and then will review the position, so by suspending bookings how can they expect the position to improve? It cant, and actually gets worse, as people are literary jumping ship due to uncertainty.
I have come to an decision.
I will stay with the 7/30 as thats what I really want to do.
If they cancel it, and stick to T&C's on contract, I will ask for my money back and go somewhere else, as during this time other DCL cruises are going up in price.
