***DCL do not read my above message about charging Andrew for three 4 night wine packages*** :rotfl2:

Andrew next time you are in Tesco looking at wine, can you tell me if there are any Australian Rieslings available? I'd give you the name of the one I'm looking for but can't remember it off the top of my head. Thanks so much
Tell me the name I will look, now depends what Tesco you want to go for, as they grade them from the small Metro's to the larger Extra stores.

The extras are likely to have a wide spread of Wine, the Metros a smaller selection, but I can be in Tescos any time, and asda, and Sainsburys, and Marks....

Prop up the bar with me.

Now tell me the secret... Your profile for this cruise says you are on deck 8 opposite side to me, Where are you??? Cat 1???

TESCO's BOOZE CRUISE.........PRESENTS.....

And I thought it was just women that could shop! Unfortunately I don't think this mission will give you an excuse for M&S even though they are going to start to stock other branded goods

:lmao:;)

Where I live I have them all most within 5 mins walk....

That's terrific, Laurie! I guess when I see you later this month it will be the last time I can whisper things about you without you hearing me:laughing:
:lmao::thumbsup2

Well, if you need someone to fill a table, I've been known to eat with a group! :wave2:
Cool:cool1:
:goodvibes I love eating at Palo:cloud9:
I'm getting as many bruches and dinners as I can:woohoo:

Also, just a thought. Do you think we might put together a precruise dinner in London, maybe for Sat. night before the cruise. About 14 of us got together for dinner with a group before the Med cruise and it worked out great! It was a great place to finally meet those who we had "spoken" with for so long.
Sounds great:thumbsup2
I'm in:goodvibes

Thanks for all of the great information and advice everyone! I am sure that I will be asking more as time goes on. We are so very excited I can't stop thinking about it every day.

My DD is so excited to be going to London! At her school they celebrated International Childrens day the last week of October. They were asked to pick a country they are interested in to represent. When I asked her what country she wanted to pick her answer was "London". So after trying to explain that London is not a country but is a city we decided on England. She made the flag of the country for their parade, dressed up as a queen (it is very hard to find English costumes here) and then we made an apple crumble to share with her class. It all turned out great. It is so cute to see all of the children dressed from other countries. One child dressed as a Transformer.....what country do you think he was from?

Monica

:rotfl::rotfl:
When my son was little is was the Buzz Lightyear costume he kept wearing.

I was thinking that too . . .

Well, I will actually have an 18 year old on this cruise! Arrrgh, how did I become the parent of semi-grown people?:lmao: However, I doubt she would want to hang out at Palo with a bunch of my friends, so let's call it one for brunch and I'll go there with her on our own for dinner . . .

My DS (almost 16) can't wait to eat in Palo. We've brought a chocolate souffle back the last few times that he shared with my DD.

We have a bit of a drama in my family right now...

Remember that wedding in Brazil I went to back in August?

Well it was a vow renewal for my brother and his Brazilian wife. Just found out the marriage is over...she is leaving him for her boyfriend....and it is looking like the marriage was intended to get her a green card as May was the 3 year mark needed for citizenship:headache:

My brother is heart broken:sad2:

My sister and I are furious:mad:

My Mom and other sister relieved that she is gone..

Anyway I'm posting this here for a few reasons...one as a warning to others...another to vent a bit ...and also to see if anyone has ideas or advice:confused3

I'm so tempted to write her parents and let them know the true story as I'm sure she has fabricated something to avoid anyone judging her harshly.

She really fooled us big time:sad2:

Laurie, your poor brother, that is so sad:sad2:

The only thing I can say about telling her mother is that I think it is likely that the mother knew . . . after all, she did raise that person:confused3

My only advice is to be as supportive to your brother as you possibly can . . . and understand that he is going to go through a lot of emotions over time -- sadness, anger, regret, even longing.

I'm really sorry that this has happened to your family.:grouphug:

Andrew just leave a key under your door mat so we can all help ourselves to the Tesco stocked bar in your cabin. :rotfl2:

I'll get the name of the wine I am thinking of and let you know.
My friends live in Christchurch and I'm not sure which category of stores they have down there. I 'talk' to you on here much more than I do them via email so I thought I would ask you first. :thumbsup2

Robert, too funny that you popped in while we were in the middle of a booze conversation. :drinking1

Laurie that's so sad for your brother. I saw the pics you posted on FB and he looked so happy in them.
Be supportive for him and be grateful there are no children involved.

My brother has been separated for close to 2 years now, no clue if he's still going on this cruise or not, and the one thing I've done the entire time is to not say anything bad/mean about her. I listen to him and don't ask many questions at all - sometimes it's been hard to bite my tongue, but I just do it.

Everyone hang in there and support each other. :grouphug:

Yes one of the things we have been debating is what to say to my brother as we are a little worried that she will try to come back if things don't work out with her new life. And yes things could get worse as far as alimony and kids:eek:

My Dh has said the thing that bothers him the most are the timing and the immigration status. There is little doubt that when she got up in front of hundreds of people in a church to renew her marriage vows in August that she was already having an affair with her new boyfriend (my brother found "love letter" emails as early as September).

I did message her maid of honor in facebook as the girl seemed so nice during the week of the wedding and they met in the US at college so she is not Brazilian. The maid of honor is also shocked and hurt and insists she did not know and that she is questioning her own judgment in people- somehow knowing that even some of her own friends were clueless is comforting as you start to wonder how many people knew:confused3

My DH and I work at the patent office in Virginia and there are plenty of folks that marry foreigners and things work out ok ...

I guess I'm hoping that passing on this story maybe helps someone else think twice if they find themselves in a similar situation:sad2:

Not sure what to do with all the wedding photos and Brazilian soveniers.

I suppose I can try to find some postcards of Nebraska so toss me into the postcard exchange if you would be so kind (unless you are scared of seeing Nebraska).

I will update the list and add you! How scary can a postcard of Nebraska be? I just imagine the front of the Bruce Springsteen CD . . . a big open flat road:laughing:

I will be expecting to see nekked ears of corn. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That will be ears of corn without the husks.

I was just looking at the first post here and looking over names of cruisers. We sure have a lot of people who haven't posted in a LONG while!
When did Tina (Downrivermama) and daughter cancel?
