Is it me or are there less and less people posting on this thread? Wheres Julie?? I would have thought we would have had a spike in posts since the shore trips were released!

It is the calm before the storm.

Maybe...but with a full cruise and shore trips up, you would expect more people around and more new ones!!!???

Or a whole bunch of people are having second thoughts & getting ready to bolt before final payment is DUE!:confused3:scared1::sad2:

Busy in a good way?

I wasnt talking about you!;) I was talking about the missing masses!:scared1:

No Marla work work you have to pay for this cruise!:thumbsup2:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:  popcorn::

I know, thats why I said, at least I am paid in full, no need to worry about it, and have funds free for when the heart-attack prices of shore trips comes out in two weeks!!!

But yes, I agree with you that with a high price of the cruise, and airfare on top for the folks of USA, there will be drop outs, but I expect we will sail full in fact people who book late will be disappointed.

We've had wrestling every night of the week and the entire weekends lately but we are off tonight!!! We have to be in Gettysburg for a match tomorrow by 7:30 AM ready to wrestle so I plan on scouring over excursions and trying to get an early night in bed. Yeah, right!

I think we are going to go ahead and schedule DCL excursions in each port and then decide later if we will cancel/ do any on our own. I just know in Russia we'll be doing DCL excursions for sure. In Europe in 2007 we did several ports on our own.

Still need to book airfare and a hotel in London. That's on our list of things to do Monday which is a holiday for us (MLK Day).

Anyone plan on going to see the Dream in Germany? I'm sure it's going to be quite costly with the charter plane needed. I think we'll be doing Berlin there for sure.

I bet someone on the first cruise will complete a big trip report on seeing the DREAM and therefore for us and 'exclusive' it isn't so worth the money.

If the shipyard was closer and didn't clash with Berlin I would be interested, however its one of thoose ports where I could do many of the trips, would love the Mollie train, or the local one to Rostock.

I think a factor for many is price, they are going to be an arm and a leg, now I know some people like to 'test' local food, but why pay for a three course meal and be on a cruise ship. I say have palo brunch the day before, by the kids hamburgers and whack in extra sightseeing time!!!:lmao:

Oslo, there are two I am interested in, same as Copenhagen, 2 to 3, Tallinn two, Stockholm its 1!

Depending on prices, I was thinking of doing, Oslo, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Stockholm on our own. According to my own looking around I think it would be easy to do. Warnemunde, the Molli steam engine. St.P, Madison so wants to go to the Royal Ball at Catherine's Palace. I almost want to see times before I decide. And definitely the prices. There will be 7 of us, so maybe I can get the in-laws to look into a personal tour.

Sounds like a plan, and yes Oslo, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Stockholm is feasible on your own.

Does anyone know where we'll be docked in Stockholm ?

This is our 2nd cruise to the Baltic ( 1st was '08 RCCL Jewel ) and we are excited to go back. Berlin is the only city we haven't visited on this itinerary, so we're esp looking forward to all that history...even if it is a LONG ride in.

It is very easy to do Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Tallin on your own.

Copenhagen...Rib Boat then Tivoli
the canal boat tour is very nice, Carlsberg brewery fun, kids liked Hans Christian Anderson Museum

Wandemunde.... Berlin,Past & Present

St Petersburg.... Day 1 ? , Day 2 :DCL Pushkin & Peterhof
Evening Canal Tour

Last time we did Denrus' Value Tour. Excellent !!!

Oslo... hoping the Ski Jump & museum is open ( they've been rennovating)
It's the #1 tourist attraction,Vigeland Statues...missed that last time.
Also want to find the shop where I bought a wool throw. Like a dummy, I washed it in the machine and shrunk it ! Want to buy another !

Don't miss the Viking museum and Fram museum

Stockholm....Going back to see the VASA...wow ! Also, we loved Gamla Stan
( Old Town ). If you want a cheap lunch find the hotdog kiosk near the church. It's like a warm loaf of French bread with a hotdog & spicy mustard inside !
MY FAV PORT !

Wake up early to see the breathtaking scenery sailing into Stockholm

Tallin...some people's fav town. Bring $ for the Sweater Wall.

On the DCL website for each port of all, it has a port map area, and details of where it docks.

Nice list..
