ahh, thank you:thumbsup2
it is hot and sunny today, but we are expecting more rain:rolleyes:

My youngest daughter Amanda got married in October. We've been waiting for the video, the videographer is quite serious about his work. But he sent us this snippet and I thought I would share. Madison is the flower girl, she will be our little travel companion.

I didn't notice the pirate either until Julie posted asking for help.

I miss the nursery school days-the homework was so much easier:laughing:
Try to video and pics-they change so fast.

Wow, what a pirate: run!!!

Congrats on the pirate: Laurie!!!!!

Still gray and rainy here. Hopefully we'll have sun this weekend.

Thanks!
I've heard rain until Saturday:confused3

We had a wedding for my older daughter, the maid of honor, but that didn't last. Extremely wrong choice. But in both cases we looked for all inclusives. You can add as much or as little as you want. They contract florists & bakeries. It was very easy. We were happy with everything.

Wow, that was beautiful. I loved her black/white/red color scheme. It looked like a bautiful day for everyone.

We did the all-inclusive as well and it made everything so much easier and cheaper. We did it more for convenience for our guests since we got married on Friday night at 8pm. Also, because we didn't want to lose a day of our honeymoon since we went to London - it was all about me for traveling. :upsidedow

Could you clarify what you mean by all-inclusives? Is it the hotel you picked or something to do with the wedding? Are there wedding all-inclusives? (Just doing some research!);)

We got married at the Three Little Bakers Country Club that used to be in Wilmington. We had the ceremony and reception in the same room, they set up the chairs for the ceremony on the dance floor. They offered everything for a set price; food, drinks, cake, table decorations, and even the band. All we had to do was choose the menu, color scheme to use for linens and table decorations, and songs for the band to play.
We did use our florist for my flowers and to rent an arbor and plants for the stage and for an arrangement to set on the piano for my pianist take home as a thank you.

It was one stop 'shopping' at the country club; no running around looking for a caterer, music, cake, table decorations, bar tender. If you can find a place that is definately the way to go, so much less stress.

We booked it just about a year out, since they had just opened the banquet room and we wanted to see it set up, I ordered my dress and it was in within 3 weeks, so we had 10 months to sit back and wait for May 20 to arrive. I already knew what I wanted for flowers so going to the florist was easy, told him what I wanted for my flowers, got the arbor rented and told him to make a pretty arrangement for the piano and get nice plants for the stage. Easy peasy...

Hope this helps you out a bit.

p.s. We loved our table decorations, 2 on each table. They used 2 tier cake stands tied a ribbon with a couple of fresh flowers on the top and on each tier were little pastries. Everyone loved it.
They really spoiled us since we were their first wedding held in the baquet room, even tho they had been doing receptions and banquets for a year. We had 2 huge desserts carts full of pastries and cakes for dessert, along with wedding cake. We brought home 14 bakery boxes of leftover pastries and they made my English friend, who came over for the wedding, a birthday cake that she carried home on the plane the next day.

Hello everyone!

We would like to be included too!
We will be on the 7-18 Baltic cruise with the rest of you and we can hardly wait.:dance3:
We have never cruised with DCL before and I am hoping to gain a lot of information from all of you veterans so that we can make the most of it all.

I have been lurking on this site for a while now but have never posted. Please be patient with me.

We are:
Disname: Samanthasmom1- Monica
DH: Scott
DD: (will be 6 when we cruise)- Samantha
Cat. 9 room # 2632 (I think) right now
We live in Albuquerque, New Mexico
We will be celebrating our DD's 7th birthday. She turns 7 on the last day (7/30).
We have been to Disney World many times in the past couple of years but have never been on a DCL cruise.

We would like to be included in bus transfer from London to Dover if there is still room for the 3 of us.

Welcome Monica. :yay:

Feel free to jump in here and join in our gabfests and some cruise info sharing. Every so often we will talk cruise talk, but for the most part we chat and entertain each and support each other. Feel free to read over post #1 of this thread to find links to lots of useful info. There's also the links for the first 3 threads if you feel like scanning thru them. In the 3rd thread there are pics from my Baltics cruise that we took last summer, the link is in post #1.

Where have all the Ballyhooers gone?:lmao:;)

Been trying to find internet/phone/cable for FL, not many options available to us. Still not sure if I want to order it all since we won't be there a lot, but I don't want to disconnected from the world and all of you. :upsidedow :grouphug:

So, where are the pics from today's big day?!? :confused3 popcorn:: :rolleyes1

Monica, will you be going to London ahead of time and doing some sightseeing?

So far that is the plan. We have never been to London at all either. We had talked about spending a couple of days in London pre-cruise and then maybe a couple of days in Paris (maybe DLP?) post-cruise but we will need to see how the finances are along with the available time off from work.

I was really interested in going on a Disney cruise before but have held off until our DD got a little older. I had visions of her falling overboard that I just could not get out of my head.:scared1:
Since Disney announced last fall that they will be doing this Northern European itinerary I just had to get over my fear! I have always wanted to go to the Baltic region and what a perfect opportunity! I just love the friendly, family atmosphere and then finding you all just helped "seal the deal" for me.

I have been lurking around for a while and have read many of the posts on this thread but not all, yet! There are so many!

There are tons of places in California, I bet there are places by you. Yo would be surprised. The one we had was at a gollf course. They had two different places outside for the wedding and if there was a problem with the weather they could move the wedding inside up to an hour and a half before. They have a pile of books to order invitations. They had two florists to choose from, you have an allowance for the florist and thing over you pay. The grooms dad threw in for that! They went to the bakery and chose their cake, the best cake I ever had!! You could have plain chairs or cover them for a surcharge. The dj was included. The planner met with us 2 times and was a great help
Here is the site http://www.wedgewoodbanquet.com/greenriver/wp.html we had the Emerald Package. There are so many places here that do this. You can pay way high prices for old homes and the wineries.
I did make the table favors myself, plus Amanda and Justin bought chapstick with their name and date!

Welcome

Do not worry we did our first DCL when my youngest was 1 & used flounders!
We did the DCL MED my little one was just turning 3 the 2nd day of the cruise was allowed into the clubs & she was fine.

My youngest DD will be 6 on this cruise as well no problems & she will be happier in the club then touring with me!

Welcome Monica! Your daughter would have to try real hard to fall overboard! It is quite safe. Our first Disney cruise we took our 5 yo dgd and she had way too much to see and do to go near the railings. That was just too boring to look out to sea!:rotfl2::lmao: Plus the ship is loaded with families that just tend to watch out for children. Out of four cruises even my husband will admit that Disney was the best cruise we took.:lovestruc:love::lovestruc

Graduation was great (short)! Pictures did not come out to well I will post this week!;):goodvibes

How could they not turn out great? Was she not the star? Was there not a little halo over her head to add just the perfect lighting for her pictures? :confused3
And besides, what's Photoshop for?:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Scary day at work for the Chief. Big, big meeting. And the county is cutting the salary of Captains and above 5%.:scared1::eek::scared1::eek: For now the Chief is just a lowly Lieutenant so he safe this month. :sad1:

Welcome aboard:cheer2::cheer2:
Believe it or not, the thread is kinda slow at the moment:rotfl:

Graduation was great (short)! Pictures did not come out to well I will post this week!;):goodvibes
I'm not a very good photographer and my pics from graduations didn't come out great either:confused3 My timing is horrible:headache:
Looking back we liked the photos we took after the ceremony with the kid's friends the most. Of course it helps when they are standing still:rolleyes1

:headache: ouch, hope he stays safe:hug:
My DH is not getting his bonus this year which has always been our vacation money. Feel lucky to have jobs though:confused3

:welcome: to the family

Karen is there a Hard Rock Cafe near you? I just got this email from them:

It's our birthday and we're gonna party like it's our birthday! As part of our Burger Badge Bash, civil servants, including police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians, are invited to visit participating Hard Rock Cafes in the continental U.S., Canada and Europe to enjoy a burger from Hard Rock's "Legendary Experience" selection for just 71 cents* – commemorating 1971, the birth year of Hard Rock!

** To receive a 71 cent Legendary Burger on June 14th, civil servants must present proper identification and badge stating their eligible status. The offer is valid only for dining-in at select Hard Rock Cafes, limited to one item per person and restrictions apply.
