We will probably be staying closer to Victoria -- do you have any idea of the price comparison between a private car hire vs. the train, Andrew?

I dont know if I should post that in 2010, all I need to do is either drive to the cruise port or get a taxi and be there in one hour!!!!! Mint.

Nope, you didn't need to post this at all. :sad2: I think we had figured it out before now. Are you volunteering to do a liquor stop for us on the way to port and delivering it to each cabin?!? :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Mint indeed:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:

Are you on the south side of London, Andrew?

You deserve a little convenience after all your super-long distance trips, so gloat away;)
Just north side of the river but I have a crossing nearby

Train is £25pp adult, one quote for private car same route £256.

I can give you an idea. Last summer when I was pricing our options a private car hire for people was around $320, train was about $120, and the coach cost us around $60. Keep in mind this was with the approximately £2:$1 ratio. These were all 1 way rates and from the Victoria area.

Thanks, both of you -- I am not ruling out a bus with everyone if it seems workable but I do have some residual trauma from last year! (Barb, basically I coordinated three large buses, none of which seemed to know that they were there for us -- and bore a different name than what we had reserved -- none of the drivers spoke English, and only one spoke Spanish, which was fine, the other two spoke Mandarin! Then there was not enough space for everyone's luggage despite being assured there would be, and they didn't know the way to the port and got lost. Yes, and I was in charge:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: Thank God for Todd -- DisneyVegas)

I think DCL was quoting transfer rates of either 125 or 150 per person from London to the Ship:headache:

Smaller van rentals would work well for families (if the price is right) as they will pick you up at your hotel & take you right to the ship!

We actually skiped the DCL transfer from DL to the ship last summer because it was leaving so late & we like to be one of the first on board!

Everyone has there own priorities.

So questions:

1. How much for a van for 4 to 8 passengers from London to the port?

2. How long from london to the port in Dover?

You are most welcome.
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I have a feeling there won't be that many people for next summer. We could always limit it to the first so many people that want to take advantage of this offer or if we have enough people have 2 different pick up locations for 2 buses.

Of course I did. I'm really hoping that I can get my friends to do a liquor run for us before the cruise and deliver it to the ship along with theirselves. Maybe, just maybe they would be willing to pick up some extra to bring along for others. :woohoo: I'll have to ask them very nicely, but I think they would do it.

My quote was for 3 people and 3 suitcases. For that many people and luggage I would figure about $450+ each way.

It's just under 2 hours from Victoria Station to the port. (Wow, I think I answered this question for you back a page or 2. ;) )

I am so hoping that John my favorite poolside sever & Raj my favorite poolside Bartender are still on the magic next summer.

We were really having some fun at the pool untill that stupid guy brought out the nurf football & baseball's & got DCL security involved (oops that was me):lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::laughing::cool1::banana: :woohoo: :yay: Well at least ALY & AJ enjoyed playing a game of catch! :cool1::woohoo:

And you expect a guy who drinks as much alcohol as me to remember all the way back to page 2:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:;)

I have trouble with what day of the week it is I should have gotten a day date instead of a yachtmaster!:);)

I didn't say ON page 2, I said back a page or 2. Meaning the last time you asked me that question either earlier today or yesterday. :lmao: :rotfl:

I know, we've had too much cruise talk the last couple of days and you aren't used to that. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :confused3

2 hours from London to the port means that we should leave the Hotel at about 9AM!:drive::moped::car:

If you want to be there around 11am then your math is correct. I guess we'll have to check the first cruisers and see what time the port opens and we can get into the terminal. The terminal is small, at least the one we were at, and there weren't many chairs. But boarding had already started when we arrived at Noon and we didn't have to wait in line at all.

Gotta fly & take DS to hockey practice he has been skating with some guys from Northeastern an X NHL nutcase & A AHL player on Tuesday & Thursday's
I will check in When I get back! :car:

No it was on the East Bound Repo silly!:lmao:

Andrew was skulking about on deck 10 taking pictures he can vouch the activities!:dance3::rolleyes1

Aren't you the joker this evening?!? :hippie: :cool2:
Maybe Andrew can post some of those pics for us to see. :confused3
