Are you saying that we (i.e. us DCL folks this side of the pond) and your daughter's stay in Germany have highlighted the overall lack of knowledge that many US folks have about general things that happen outside of the US :confused3 :confused3 If so I agree that it's down to your press coverage. When we're over there and looking through the newspapers we can rarely find anything that relates to other parts of the world, even headline stuff

Wait... you mean, stuff happens outside of the US?

What an odd concept....:rolleyes1

Well, you West Coasters can always meet in DL and make us jealous!:)

It sounds easy enough, but we're talking a 7-8 hour drive, or $125-$250 round trip flight, plus lodging costs, meals and tickets. So for some of us at least, a DL meet is not a casual or spontaneous decision.

Sounds worth it to me!:thumbsup2

Drive straight through, bring a cooler with your own food and drink and sleep in your car!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I believe I just saved you hundreds of dollars!!:thumbsup2

I guess Cali is a bigger state than anyone knows?:confused3

OK, I'm telling you now, we will be down at DL May 15-17 and then again Dec 27-Jan 2!

East coasters really don't have a grip on how far it is from place to place here. Seattle is about a 20 hour drive to DL, Dan lives mid-state and it's about an 8 hour drive to DL.

No, I have driven through it many times, and helped at road construction sites from San Diego to Ojai, from Santa Monica to the Colorado River. I know quite well how big the state is.
