It was just in the news AGAIN about 10 minutes ago. They are finally going to look into why the doctor implanted 6 eggs when most doctors would never implant more that 2. She also has no job. I guess that's just 8 more people the state of CA will have to support.

What I don't get about the whole this is why in the world would she do this over and over again? Who has paid for each of the procedures she's had done? Funny she is now saying 6 eggs were implanted, last week I heard her say only 4 were implanted like every other time.

Don't forget that her parents, who have been helping her, filed for bankruptcy last year.

The poor CA taxpayers. Can you all do a poll to name the kids since you all will be supporting them?

You have to remember it's the American press that thinks this, not all of us. I'd rather hear about the awards overseas and more upbeat things, than all the depressing stuff that us shoved down our throats all the time.

She is done with hs marching band - she did 4 years 3 years with the clarinet and her last ear she switched to the baritone as the band didn't have enough low brass for their show. She said she would give it a ty and learned to play by ear

She loved marching band and wouldn't have given it up for anything

It is lots of hard work - they start practicing right after July 4th 4 days of week and then go away for a week to a local college and then once school starts practice 2 nights a week. Plus all the games and then band compeititions every weekend right through end of October/early November depending on when their state meet was

Wow, I had heard that the schools out in the midwest started their practices much earlier in the summer. Andrew's doesn't start until August. But the first week of the 3 weeks in August was 2x a day (7-12 and 6-9) for a week. He was exhausted Then after that I think it is only once a day-five days a week. I'm not sure as Andrew missed the second 2 weeks of band because we had our PC repo trip. I was shocked they let him stay in. September was rough as he was a freshman.
That is great that your DD picked up a new instrument her senior year. She's not afraid of a challenge

I'm guessing she's been watching the Dugger's and wants to be like them and make money off a tv show. I heard this 'lady' (using the term loosely) wanted $2M to do an interview. I certainly hope The Today Show didn't pay her to be on there today.

I did -- it's certainly a great movie, and I found myself thinking about it for days, which is the sign of a movie that is doing more than entertain. However, despite the fairy tale ending, I found much of it so violent that I don't know that I could see it again, which is too bad. For a good film, I find so much more depth on a second look -- once you know what is going to happen, you notice foreshadowings, etc. My personal favorite of the films nominated is "Milk" -- a real inspiration to me about how someone can persist in what they believe in and make a difference.

I knew the BAFTAs were yesterday, and certainly what they were, Izzie!



I'm a subscriber to the New York Times, and I can assure you that it is not true everywhere in the US. However, we in Manhattan like to call ourselves a little island off the coast of Europe, so that makes a difference

To speak to the Oscars conversation, my oldest saw Milk and SD.......she also couldn't watch it a second time. All I can say is that, it wasn't what I expected (Slumdog)......however, I learned a lot about Indian culture that I didn't know. I teach children of this persuasion and I now have renewed appreciation for their culture and how they ended up in America. Very good movie. Tara also felt Milk was excellent.

I've heard of the Baftas but I'm alittle out of touch with that one!

Izzie, the other understanding of our "lack" of world appreciation again comes from my oldest. She studied at Miami Ad School for the last 2.5 years. Not only did her travels raise her awareness of our lack of worldliness.....even when she was meeting students from all over, she also realized that the foreign students were much more aware of our culture and government than we are..........it is enlightening, also most "international" students are more well-traveled than most Americans.

So, I'm clearly guilty as charged.
