Actually my brother has 2 Segways, 1 for him and 1 for my nephew. They live in town and use them to ride all over. The actual real town is small and the area around it has grown up and they are about 1 mile or so from the center of the action. But it came in very handy for him last year when he had shoulder surgery and couldn't drive, so he would Segway all over town. It was pretty funny driving by him seeing him trolling down the sidewalk with his empty sleeve flapping while his arm was in a sling, to make it worse it was a bright red Mickey jacket he was wearing. After I made fun of him doing that he decided to tuck the sleeve in so no one else noticed that. He can't ride it to work since work is 24 miles away and it's range is only 22 miles and it would take him 2 hours to get there. They go 12½ mph.
My nephew has gotten creative using it, he traded the town cop a ride on it so he could get into the high school football game for free.![]()
My brother also went to Indianapolis last summer to a Segway convention.
He really would love to be able to take one to WDW to use, but WDW does not allow that.
He bought them used from a company that does Segway tours around Philadelphia.
I take it that's more than you wanted to know about Segways?!?![]()

GOOD MORNING AFTERNOON AND EVENING BALLYHOOERS!!!!!
Why does it have to be Monday? Couldn't it be Saturday or Sunday again?
I know....it was picturing in your head a grown man Segwaying down the street with the red sleve flapping in the wind behind him that enthralled you.![]()
![]()
I was thoroughly enthralled with the story!!![]()

I didn't realize how much they would use them when they got them and I will admit that I laughed at first. But he bought them at the height of the gas prices. I even offered to take him home one day, I was even going to pile the Segway in my Mini, and he chose to ride the Segway.nope, not too much info at all! I think that's cool how they ride them all around town! I guess that's small town living for you!![]()
Apparently everyone else has the same opinion of Monday (insert Caro's little puking guys here) since many have been MIA for all or part of the morning. Why does it have to be Monday?
That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure they didn't come out with a new REAS package deal. I'm usually the last to know about these things![]()
NiceWish I could do that
![]()
I tried the Segway at Epcot. A bit nervous at first, but yes easy enough that even us clutzy people can do it![]()
Now what do you do with the segway if you want to make a stop ? Or do you just ride around to see the sites and return the segway when you want to explore more extensively ?
They have a segway tour of DC that Laura (eeyorlvr) went on last year that I wanted to try. Maybe I'll practice here so I'm comfortable to try it in Tallinn.
SeeGlad I'm not the only one that was confused

I would be nervous going downhill as well. I'm not a speed person![]()
True, it may not be worth the $359.00 to everyone, but for Andrew and I it was. This will be the only time we celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was important to us to get Palo for dinner that night. This is the first vacation that we have ever taken just the 2 of us since we had children. (15 years in May) We deserve to splurge a little and live it up! Rose petals on my bed? WOO HOO!!!! I'm not exactly sure what we are supposed to do with them when we go to bed though! Do I just push them off on the floor and have our room steward clean them up in the morning? LOL!I have never been a great lover of REA's, you may see my posts on the subject on the main forum, purchased separately, the components can be obtained cheaper, &/or have little value. Posters tend to say they book it to get the 'loophole' of booking all Shore trips at 105 as well a Palo, although the shore trips are not actually part of the advertised package.
DCL should stick to the actual package, and also be consistent, why on cruises below 10 days only? Not over, as the only bit you may use more is the Rainforest pass.
REA's started as a honeymoon package add on, but now it has become the '105 booking package deal', with some add ons for $359. When people can get to the ship early and book all this for free.
Anyway not AVL for this cruise unless they change the rules.

I can see how it may not be for everyone, but for us it was worth it for this once in a lifetime day.
Northwest math may say by 3 but the real math says by 8.![]()

And we will enjoy every minute of it and tell Andrew all that he missed while he stays home with the girls.![]()

Your post says what a lot of people say about the REAS package, it's worth it for the memories and what you make of it. Worth is all relavant in everyone's eyes. It's just the same as those who prefer to book a cat. 12 or those that book a cat. 1 - it's just about preference and what you want and like.
So is Alana's b'day in May?
Because it's Monday. You know, I knew I was supposed to put 8! No clue why I put 3!![]()
If it wasn't illegal to take flowers off the ship we could save him a few, so instead he will have to deal with the pics. We'll make sure we email him and maybe even send some pictures of the rose petals!![]()

I thought we were going to have even more in common than just May anniversaries since Alexa's b'day is in May.
Really I'm not trying to find fault with you today, I'm really not.![]()
Oh find fault! Izzie is not around so we might as well have some fun!!![]()
