Ethan update - The aches seem to have gone, but he was coughing and sneezing this morning but seem in as very cheery spirit. He went off on the bus with Josh to spend the day at his future (hopefully) secondary school. Getting the bus is a big deal as he currently walks just 7 mins to school. The bus journey is 1 1/2 round north london and it's not a school service just a regular red london transport bus. However only the JFS kids get on it and the driver is not supposed to let any adults on it !!!

Paul is picking up Ethan in about 25 mins, it'll be interesting to find out what happened and how he got on.

I've only got another 2 days till I'm off for the holidays and then I've got 2 weeks off work :woohoo: :woohoo: Let's just hope that I've got a job to come back too:scared: :scared: Having said that there is absolutely no one to cover my job whilst I'm away so assuming I've still got a desk on January 5 it's going to be completely covered in work for me to return to :rotfl: :scared: :rotfl: :scared:

Good luck with all of that! I hope it all goes well with the job and school......

:goodvibes Good Day to All who Ballyhoo!:goodvibes
It has Snowed :cold: & now turned to Rain :cold: in the greater Boston & South Metropolitan area, now back to you Izzie!:lmao:

I believe it's supposed to be coming our way but only in the north. The weather forecast for London over the next few days is wet and mild. I didn't even wear my hat this morning !!! I do have a very silly looking black hat that I wear as I do not like feeling cold whilst I'm waiting for the train in the mornings. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, we are supposed to get a real storm on Friday into Friday night & again on Sunday! Active weather pattern:headache: :cold:

Good Luck to Ethan!:thumbsup2

Greetings from the snowy mitten! We got 4.1 inches of the white stuff. :scared1: Had to shovel the sidewalk so my postal carrier doesn't have a fit! I hate shoveling before going to work. Yuck!

Izzy love your pic in front of Exp Everest! Gald to hear that Ethan is feeling better.

Hope everyone is safe and warm.

Thanks to all for the weather reports, our storm was a dud but some people had off or delayed openings today...................:rolleyes1 Not us.

Weather report from the Pacific Northwest! It's expected to snow this morning and again this afternoon /evening. Our school district cancelled school for the day. I'm sure the girls are very happy right now! It's 35 degrees out right now.

All this weather talk about snow and ice and such...where's the global warming they keep talking about?!? :confused3

:grouphug: Hopefully you will have a full desk to come back to and it stays that way for a long while. :flower3:

Hopefully everything went well with the school visit and bus ride today. It was good he was feeling much better to be able to go to the school visit today.

I had originally picked the 17th thinking it was my grandmothers birthday, but I then realized that hers was the 19th. When I was a child, we would celebrate her birthday and two weeks later we would celebrate mine and Grandpa's (both of us on the 1st of Jan). While "Gram" & I were not blood related (foster mother to my DM) she taught me a lot about caring for "Family" and that family is what we make it.

While thinking of this, I did some research on to what happened in history on the 17th of December and found that one of the more dysfunctional (or is that DIS-functional) families had it's premiere on Dec 17th. So here is the Holiday picture of the day:

VERY NICE, THANK YOU

Evening all..

Hello all -- well, I got the dreaded call from the school nurse earlier today about my youngest . . . it seems she had gone in asking for a note so that she wouldn't have to sing because it hurts too much (she is in the midst of rehearsals for a concert on Friday -- and loves to sing) and the nurse said her throat looked terrible and needed to be tested for strep! She had complained off and on for a few days of her throat bothering her, but honestly this time of year it seems we always have some kind of low-grade this or that. So I picked her up from school, took her to the doctor, and she tested positive for strep -- so she is on antibiotics now and will finish up the day before we board the Magic for our New Year's Eve cruise . . . hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and she will feel better . . . and fingers crossed no one else in the family ends up with it!

Oh no. I hope she feels better for her concert on Friday.

 Aww, that's too bad. I hope she starts feeling better really soon. Being sick is never fun, but being sick at the holidays is really no fun.

Thanks for the well wishes . . . if the antibiotics work as I have seen them do before, she will be much better tomorrow and able to go to school on Friday (and sing!) . . . fingers crossed, anyway. Better it happen now than on Christmas eve or Christmas, or getting on the ship, right?

:tinker: pixiedust: Here's some pixie dust hoping the dreaded illness stays away from the rest of the family. pixiedust:

I know -- I told the other ones to let me know right away if they felt a sore throat! If none of us feel one in the next few days, we should be fine, since she won't be contagious anymore after she has been on the antibiotics throughout today.

School cancelled again for the girls! I'm sure they are celebrating! :cool1: They won't be as happy when they have to make those days up later this year!

OMG... Kids always forget about making up the days when the weather is nice. Stay warm and safe.

Hope she gets better soon, there is so much of it about here the hospitals are at 'breaking point' with patients.

What we need is a very cold snap to kill it off.

Funny thing happened last night, I was over on the 8/15 Tortola thread saying it was getting a bit late for DCL to put up the Tortola shore trips, first cruise there is 4/25 and 105 days before is around January 10th. So not long.

Me and another disser from Essex England were discussing this and I checked the DCL site twice, it wasn't up at all, but an hour later they were all up.

Now, are they reading 'all' my posts????:rotfl:

By the way the trips look rather nice! I get to book mine May 2nd funny enough thats the last night of the first Tortola cruise so I will not be able to get in any comments back form that cruise before booking.

They have put up a couple of signature shore trips on that cruise and i expect them to have some for us in 2010.
