Ouch - Somehow the elegance of the word "redundancied" doesn't make it any more pleasant than the crass American "laid-off".

I remember the first time I faced something like this. It was a small company and they called a company-wide meeting. I got to the conference room and noticed other people were slow arriving. Then the CEO walked in and announced "congratulations - if you're in this room you still have a job"

Thought I'd do a quick post now whilst I'm still awake. Last nights concert WAS FANTASTIC There was lots of dancing in the aisles and loud audience participation singing However it was a very late night as we didn't get home till after midnight . Mick Hucknall looks sooooooo old (I think he's about 44/45) but his voice is to die for it has definately matured and mellowed with age.

This was the 1st gig in their 25 years greatest hits tour which will be their last. Once this tour finishes next May then Simply Red are splitting up and Mick Hucknell will then do his "own" thing so I am very glad I got to see them.

So great to hear of your night last night and a great time was had by all. But my brain is not working right now, I can't think of any of their songs right now.

Oh g-d what a busy day I had hoped that it would be a quiet one so I could go to sleep and leave on time but it has been manic. I've spent most of the day doing invoice analysis as all thre senior managers try to cut costs so they can show they can make savings without losing head count I guess this is going to be quite alot of my work over the coming weeks so I'm trying to do the best for them. I still have to day my daily day to day stuff as well so at least it's going to make the time go fast.

Anyway it's now 2 hours AFTER I should have gone home and I'm still at my desk. Once I do go home I think it'll be dinner and bed so I'll take the oppotunity now to say have a good evening everyone and
