7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 2

Hi

I am not trying to stir the pot, but I have a suite booked which has 0 availability! DCL took the Fuel Surcharge Off, I have compared the new confirmation versus the old & the only difference is a reduced price by the amount of the surcharge!

So hopefully that e-mail you received is correct, just check the numbers & have a pint of scrumpy and all will be better!:goodvibes

Suites are being handled differently since they are usually sold out. They are repricing them to make sure the base price didn't increase and if it didn't then they are taking off the charges. I was able to do this for a few suites

Maybe I should go back to not posting
:upsidedow

Honestly - some categories increased in price on this sailing but most did not. I sat here all day Monday and re-priced each reservation I have booked for clients for all of 2009 and 2010. What some people didn't realize when they were looking at the regular prices is that if they rebooked onboard they had to take off the 10% discount off the base fare of what was showing online to compare it to the price they had. Most were just comparing the price they saw online to what they paid and did not take off the 10%. I am sure some did but I followed this thread when it first started and those were the comparisons I was seeing. I actually re-priced mine to see how much it had gone up but when I deducted the 10% the price was the same as when I first booked it

I understand how upset you are about this but I am just reporting what we have been told and have been able to do. I don't mean to upset you further

Hey I'm sorry I didn't mean to be having a go at you, it was certainly NOT directed at you personally :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: I was just very, very, very angry at the way DCL was handling this whole situation and that coupled with the news I reiceved ealier today about possible redundancies just tipped me over the edge.

Sorry to you and to all of you who have had to listen to me ranting and raving like a mad women all afternoon :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

It means for cruises generating in North America no matter where the person lives. They had different rules for the European cruises, which I don't have handy right now.

I agree with your second paragraph and I don't mean to upset anyone or start a debate, sorry about that. I just was trying to let people know the rules of what DCL is allowing or not allowing

Thanks for the NA clarification.

It's funny because my TA spoke with one person yesterday at DCL and was told it couldn't be removed for any of the European cruises and another was able to do it. Once again at DCL, it depends on who you talk to on what answer you get. Which is nothing new for them or the rest of the corporation for that matter.

Hi Robert I just did exactly that and the cost of the holiday is EXACTLY the same less the fuel surcharge. :thumbsup2

Rant away when needed, it ok and we understand. :grouphug: princess: pirate: :headache: :dance3: In fact, you probably saved a few of us from ranting so you did it for the team. :lmao: :rotfl: :worship:

Better get to decorating the tree, it's going to take a while.
Be back later.

I'm sorry but I didn't rebook onboard, this was NOT a transferred dummy cruise booking, mine was a brand new booking and therefore there was no discount applied to it just the standard day 1 tier 1 price which is LESS than is showing now.

I am sure you are doing this but make sure you are taking the insurance and transfers off the online price you see if you do not have them on your reservation. The first price that is listed on disneycruise.com automatically includes transfers and insurance

I just repriced some category 4's for a few people on this sailing that booked on day one with tier 1 prices and their price is exactly the same as opening day.

Ok folks I hope you all have a good night as I'm off out now. DH, DSIS and BIL are going out for dinner and then were going to see Simply Red :dance3:

OK, so it's a couple hours early, but I'm heading to bed soon and tomorrow is going to be really busy.

I went with some pictures of a few of my Christmas decorations. They're all quotes about Christmas.

The last one is a little hard to read in the picture, but it's a quote by Agnes Pharo, to answer the question "What is Christmas?"

"Christmas is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace."

Very nice

OMG :scared1: :scared1: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: We've just been sent this email by our general manager,I hope that I'm not one of the poor souls

During October and November each General Manager in London has been reviewing (and continues to review) their costs including their future resourcing requirements. The Bank and I wish to be totally transparent with staff on this issue and although no final decision has been made, it is anticipated that redundancies may become necessary. However before any redundancies are confirmed the Bank will first explore other potential alternatives.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Very scary -- holding a good thought for you, Izzie!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Andrew, if no one signs up I'll do another, but let's give others a chance in case they want to!

Linda & I will keep you in our thoughts that this all works out. :grouphug: It sounds like you're the only one doing the job of several people already, so i hope that's a good sign.

I appreciate your insight. Lately DCL seems to have a habit of being less than forthcoming with their info, or you get different stories from different CM's. It does get frustrating. Not sure how you deal with them all the time.
But anyway, thanks for the info.

Thanks Mike - as an Earmarked agency, as labeled by Disney corporation, we actually have a small group of cm's we deal with on a regular basis. It makes it easier because we have gotten to know each other very well over the years. I am on the phone with DCL, WDW and DL cm's every day multiple times a day. We have a terrific Disney District Sales Manager that keeps up informed on everything that we need to know. At times it is fustrating if you get someone new or someone is having a bad day, but I try and remember that we were all new at a job at one time or another and everyone has an off day. I also love my job and that makes it easier too :grouphug:

Obviously I haven't been around when this started - what exactly are the rules?

We're doing an advent calendar type of countdown to Christmas. Each day, one person posts a Christmas picture. It can be pretty much anything related to Christmas. In fact, we've also been learning a lot about Hanukkah, so it can be related to Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or whatever winter holiday/festival/feast/etc. you celebrate.

Obviously I haven't been around when this started - what exactly are the rules?

No rules -- just post a holiday picture on the day or days you sign up for -- tomorrow is free, Jo!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Julie, are we posting Christmas pictures on the dates listed? I have been away for so long I feel like the new kid on the board!

We had the most wonderful Disney vacation and if I ever wanted to just grab time and make it stand still this would surely have been the time to do it!

The time at WDW was just the best ever and then the cruise was something else, literally! We had booked an Eastern Caribbean and with the weather problems, which being on vacation I was really not paying too much attention to---I did not know until we were ready to leave for the port that the cruise was totally changed!:confused3 .

Instead of Eastern Caribbean we had a double dip at Castaway Cay and a Western Caribbean. You could not have ordered more perfect weather. Every day was sunny and just delightful. We had wonderful servers and our stateroom host was just the best. Our daughter and son-in-law were so excited every day!:cool1: .

I thought you might enjoy these pictures from the elevators. We got quite a delight out of them:

Also, I told Mickey all about the Baltic Ballyhoo and this was the look her gave me:
