ok as promised - here's my view at 8:45 am. I was leaving with DD to sign our contract paperwork for volleyball:

And this was the view at 12 noon - you can see the difference in the sky, the top 1/2 the cloudy part was what our view was ALL DAY yesterday. I stayed indoors until 7 when I got the jitterbug and had to go shopping. Which was when I discovered Nordstrom's shoe sale. :teeth:

This was one of our local newspapers lying next to the ash:

This was what greeted me when I came out the door:

So folks, lovely day after all. Don't get me wrong - this was 100% better than yesteday. And some of our freeways are open again today. So that's good news. Thankfully, as of now, no bodies have been found although they suspect some folks in a mobile home park may have perished. Let's hope not. The police are bringing in cadaver dogs later to search for bodies. As of now, we hope things will get contained soon.

Izzie, stay safe and drive carefully!

Fringe is an American programme I thought you'd all know what I was talking about :confused3 :confused3

Izzie, I've seen advertisements for it - I think it comes on Thursdays = not 100% sure but is it any good? Can you give me the basic premise of the show? When you get back that is. I wouldn't want your son waiting on you because of me. :)

The original UGG boots were made in Australia by the sheep shearers out of the sheep fleece and leather they had to hand and they were used by the Australian farmers. The reason they are called UGG boots is that is the slang name the Aussie farmers used because the boots were so UGLY :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now in the stupid way fashion picks up on thing they are the very pinnicle of fashion and UGG have now cottoned on and made them in various styles and materials :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: BTW only the original UGG boots are made in Australia.

So it's not only Barb with loads of useless knowledge :rotfl: :rotfl:

So you are now stealing MY job?!? :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
Thanks, DD had an interview today for her People to People trip next summer.

The Ugg boots that we buy here are made in China. You can still find them in Australia and they are expensive over there. DD wanted to get a pair last year when we were there and they were about twice the price they are here.

Silly Man - Those are imitation UGG's AKA Emo's or Emu. Those don't count. (As I have recently been accused of - I've become a label snob! :snooty: ) I maintain that with UGG - those are the only ones that don't hurt my heels and don't make my feet smell. So, I like and they work, so I buy.

But the men ones are sooooo cute! (NOT) Only the "metrosexuals" wear them here although my son - who is a metrosexual man because he spends more time in front of the mirror than my two girls combined - claims he won't ever wear them even though he has one pair of moccasin slippers which he wears out. LOL:rotfl:
Okay U R Right I checked with DW and she got them at that British store Lord & Taylor:lmao:

I have no plans to convert to Metrosexual status anytime soon!:rotfl: :woohoo:

WOW a man who "knows "things ......I'm impressed :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have worked for REI (Recreational Equipment INC), an outdoor retailer for almost 24 years. I have sold LOTS of UGG boots before I came up to the warehouse. I know a little about clothing, both manufacture and retail, a bit more about footwear, and some about fitting and selling bikes and backpacks.

And since I have read an obscene amount in various genres (Caro love the word GENRE) I have large amount of "useless" information readily available.

But thank you for the compliment.

My DH share useless information? NEVER!!!! :rotfl2:
