WOO HOO!!!
We'll be there!!

Sounds like we are the last to receive our docs from Anastasia, I'm going to email her to check on them.

Not sure we will make the DIS meet, it will depend what is going on since our friends will be with us and this is their first cruise. Need to make sure they do as much as possible onboard since I'm sure they won't be able to go on another DCL cruise.
But at least we will be able to meet a lot of people on the bus ride over. BUS 2 ROCKS!!!! :woohoo:  :cool1: :grouphug: :yay:

We'll make the DIS meet subject to no port talks or anything. Can't believe it is so close, but have no time to prepare:scared1: DH is away from TUesday until the Wednesday before the cruise and out American friends from the EBPC arrive first thing on the Thursday morning - panic!

Read on the main thread about difficulty getting Estonian currency - we bought ours from the Thomas exchange global place at Victoria, no problems

I always carry the travel size Downey Wrinkle Release...works wonders !
Was just looking for that at my grocery store but they didn't have it:guilty:
I'll check at the Walmart when I get my other cruise stuff.

We managed to get all the currencies no problem, but we might wind up getting more rubles as it looks the way to go with Anastasia:confused3

I'll try to find something other than the ports to talk about at the Dis meet:rolleyes1
I'm in list making mode....

Is anyone doing the DCL tours in St. Petersburg? We have one booked for the first half day and then booked a private tour for the second full day. Some of the reviews from earlier cruise were not good for for the DCL tours. Considering canceling the DCL tour and doing both days with our private guide.

I have a steamer that I was going to bring, figured that would easier to use on hanging clothes than trying to iron on the floor or the bed.

Question: Has anybody tried taking a travel iron on board with them lately? :laundy: We took one on our Med 07 cruise with no problem but I've heard that certain items are being removed from checked luggage and or carry on luggage. :confused3  I like to have my own iron with me as I have ruined clothes by using the laundry room iron

For those who haven't received their Anastasia docs yet, I agree with others that said to email them to give them a nudge! I emailed them about something else and then got my answer and docs also!

So for a formal DIS meet on the ship we have the following options:

Embarktion day-Promenade lounge (around 3 or 3:30?)

First Sea Day
Rockin Bar D-before 3:00
Diversions - 3-4

or secret deck 7???

or meet in lobby at a preferred day/time and find a spot based on what the navigator says is available:confused3

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Would 3.30pm be a bit close to lifeboat drill, most people head up to that a bit early.

Myself if we do a meet we would prefer on an outside deck unless its raining, however I an guaranteed Sunshine from the authorities.

? Why not a simular time/place to kids meet?

I did email her last night. Nothing yet. But I have that time change going against me!

Paying Anastasia.

I have an alternative payment option for you guys that is not advertised and will normally get you a better exchange rate, and be far more secure, no carrying around cash, and no paying by credit card.

They accept, international payments by Bank transfer (Swift), now your bank may charge for these, but often the exchange rate has a tighter margin so should be cheaper overall, and safer. No carrying around large sums of cash, or trying to get good notes etc.

Details can be obtained from Anastasia.

Andrew's tip of the day.

As we often travel the long distance to USA, we have a trip, as soon as you arrive get clothes out, flick small amounts of water on clothes, and then leave on a hanger. On the Magic we found conditions right and the wrinkles normally fall out. I am pleased with my shirts, do not need pressing. However, if first day you want them pressed ask laundry and they do it and its half full clean price and quick return.

Irons are not allowed in any stateroom.

Bring Downey Wrinkle Release !! Trust me, you won't need an iron !!

Bed Bath and Beyond sell the travel size

Thanks, Andrew ! We'll check with our bank !

I am doing this, the fee is far far cheaper than Credit card fee, and the rates of exchange far better so even cover the fee, safe, secure, no carrying money around, nothing to worry as its paid for. And doesnt *eat* into your credit card limit, so more money for souvenirs.

Was just looking for that at my grocery store but they didn't have it:guilty:
I'll check at the Walmart when I get my other cruise stuff.
In the past I have purchased a generic travel spray bottle and filled it from my big Downy Wrinkle Release bottle. Particularly since their original travel size was 3.5 oz and you are limited to 3.0 oz.

I always carry the travel size Downey Wrinkle Release...works wonders !

Ships usually ban travel irons.....considered a fire hazard.

When I pack I layer my clothes with plastic dry cleaning bags...really helps.

I will look for that Downey Wrinkle Release. Perhaps Target will have it. :laundy: Has anybody seen the travel size packages of toilet paper? In 2007 Target carried them but haven't seen them this year in the travel size product sectin

The steamer is a possibility. I do have one so I'll have to consider that :thumbsup2

That pesky 3.0 oz limit again :headache: I lost a brand new bottle of contact lenses solution in Cancun to the TSA because it was 4 oz. It made it through Detroit security going down but not Mexican coming home

We're unpacked from our Denver trip, so now I'll start putting out items for the cruise  So much to do in the next 19 days. :rolleyes1
