7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

Hello

I am from Scottish and live in Edinburgh :thumbsup2

wow, you will be staying in Royal Mile as it is history street and are you going to tattoo show?

plenty restaurant in George Street or Rose Street...behind Princes Street...

Are you visit in July? as there is festival in August...

Scottishwee35

Unfortunately we will only be there July 12 and 13th and then we head up to Inverness. I would have loved to be there for the tattoo. Do you think I need a reservation for dinner or can we just walk in?

Thanks for the Street names. I will see what I can find.

Hi

Hard Rock on George Street, good for your kid, my favourite is Le Monde is in George Street about three doors from Hard Rock... i try to think where about best for you... but plenty restaurant to walk in or have a walk about then book it for evening?

July should be okay but August is very busy times with festival on....

Tigerlily is my favourite too but very expensive similar to Le monde too...

Hey everyone, just found this website again. Sounds like everyone on here has been getting to know each other for awhile now. There are 6 of us travelling on this cruise...

Myself - Jen (33)
DH - Gord (33)
DD - Elizabeth (11) princess:
DS - Alexander (20 months) :wizard:
& my parents - Donna & Greg

I was skimming through the guests on here trying to see if there was anyone else cruising with a young toddler. This is Disney Cruise 7 for my parents, 4 for my dd and myself, 3 for my dh and first for my ds. We are all very excited.

Welcome Jen and family!

I think you are all on the bus, but anyone going by train to Dover there is engineering work between Faversham and Dover on 18th July, not sure of detail maybe trains will reroute, but whatever will cause delays, if its a replacement bus that wouldn't be nice.

St Pancrus would be the best route as it doesnt go that way.

It took me awhile but I think I am caught up. I have been staying with my daughter since Thursday and go home tomorrow. DH and her husband are away at a shooting school. She is pregnant and has diabetes, so I am staying here just in case. A week ago my sil had to call 911 because she had a extremely low sugar level and he couldn't get sugar into her fast enough. So I am here to ease everyone's mind.

sending our best wishes

I'm sorry, but that statue is sort of creepy!

I totally agree - they are talking about re building it already - esimated cost at least 200,000.00

got a couple of things crossed off the list to do list - Kara had doctor's appointment, and ordered foreign money - will be in Fri, ordered Disney Reward card and had points transferred and tomorrow is annual eye exams - hopefully neither of us will need new glasses/contacts though Kara more than likely will need new years worth of contacts

welcome all to the newbies

Our foreign currency arrived yesterday! WOO HOO!!! Now I just have to figure out who some of the people, places and things are on them!

Thanks everyone. I can't beleive it is almost time to board after waiting sooo long. :cool1:

I saw the kids thread...I was telling my daughter about it on the way to school this morning. It appears there are alot of kids around her age.

I forgot in the last post, I meant to ask if this is just on the 18th? We are travelling to Dover on the 17th and staying the night before in Dover. Wondering if this will effect us?

No toddler, but my wife (Kathleen) and I are traveling with our 2 boys (Gavin - 5 and Liam - 6 mo) and our parents. :)

I actually saw your families ages when I was skimming through the list because it was the only one with an age in months :) Are you putting Liam in the nursery? I don't think we are going use the nursery, with 4 adults and his big sister I figure we should still be able to do what we would like on the boat with him.

Missed this earlier, yes there are a lot of kids in the 8>14 age group, seems a bit moire girls than boys, my son Stephen is after some friends his age 11>12.

DD is 14.

Marla,
Thanks for the reminder about transferring Disney rewards points. We needed to order a new card, too. Done.

Caro,

How the heck did you know the trivia about the rerouting of the Magic because of the bridge height??????? You are amazing, woman.

Jen & Family,

Welcome!

So I was thinking :rolleyes1, that's a scary thought :scared1:
I would really like to be at and have my kids join in the kids meet, however, I also think we might want to discover the little town of Dover. If that is the case 2pm won't work because we will probably be off the boat. Anyone else thinking this too? :confused3 So I was wondering, maybe we should do a kids meet after the life boat drill or does the party start then? We will definitely check the area when we get back on the boat if we decide to venture out. Won't cut it too short by the 4pm deadline. Did that in Mexico and it was an awful feeling, I think we were last onboard. :scared1:
Kay

Whoa - Reality check - Thanks Andrew.

I'd better print off our old packing list and start organizing. Even though school is finished, I'm teaching a summer class so I don't have as much time as I thought I would. Can you say, overwhelmed.............:scared1:

Kay its an option and I can see your good idea, Dover town centre is nice, has good shops, its about a 10>15 min easy walk from the ship, (keep ID).
The shops most likely will be open 11am>5pm, as on a Sunday they are only allowed six hours trading, the alternative is 10am >4pm.

Post on the kids thread its best to go with the majority, your idea of time is a good one, albeit after life boat drill most people head for the sail away party.

Oh yes, nearly a month, another landmark milestone, so time to start contacting the Bank to know a lot of large bills from Around Europe are coming in, and start your packing lists.

I will explore Dover in between cruises!
