7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

DOCS ARRIVED !!!!

I do need to call DCL cause on our return transfers ,it just says Disney Magic to London, instead of Disney Magic to LHR ???

I was so excited to get them...they came earlier than I expected !!

Congrats,

Best to clarify what they meen is it either London or Heathrow??

Hi all

Nice pics Andrew:thumbsup2

Busy with work -trying to keep up so I leave nothing behind for vacation:rolleyes:

Thanks Celestine for the info on the Sims cards. I checked with my cell phone carrier (Verizon) and they will give us free loaner phones for Europe:woohoo: We only pay for minutes used and since I only want them for emergencies it is exactly what I need:woohoo: Will look into the sims cards too before I leave.

Still debating on how much currency to bring. Dh doesn't like carrying so much cash, but I hate paying the extra fees for the credit cards-we are still negotiating/discussing/debating this.

Robert will Bank of America exchange for foreign currency if you only have a credit card with them (not a bank account)? We tried using their website last night and it looked like it required a bank account with them:confused3

Still want to get new water resistant jackets for everyone and new sneakers, then door signs need printing... Not much left to do:scared1::woohoo:

Doing the

TICKET DANCE!!!!

Just one day back from vacation and our next vacation tickets are delivered, looks like they missed us on Saturday.

Cute booklet, all different from last year, it has lists of our prepaid tips our gold CC membership, all DCL tours, including the Signature tour of Berlin thats not online, the Palo ressies, etc.

Lists everything on pages, from stateroom numbers to port days and port times etc. Concierge contact, numbers.

Knew they were coming soon as the cruise before ours had gotten theirs. I think they were spread out with folks getting them over several weeks. Hard to believe we are so close:woohoo:

I WILL GO FOR EUROS AND DOLLARS, -All my trips are day long and have food included so its down to the credit cards, and I do not pay fees on mine.

Yes its another milestone, getting the booklet, not tickets anymore, but you know you are on your way when they give you your luggage tags.

Make it So!!!:thumbsup2

You will have to check with a local branch.

Oh if you have a Capital One Credit Card they do not charge change fees's!:thumbsup2

Hmm, what's this?

Its funny how they worded this in the booklet,

Now in 2009 on my 7 day we choose what *gift/treat* of food we would have each day, ie cheese plate, or Canapes, salsa dip and chips,Chocolate Strawberries, etc. We could say a time, ie 5pm before dinner, or in our room after the show. Etc.

Now reports here say you no longer choose, they just select and give.

But board games you requested, or had in your room, we had various ones, including Twister. -I can recall that one as we played it!!!.

But it implies they deliver games each day, think its just the food.

Spoke with DCL's docs dept. They said on the return Disney transfer, whether you are going to Gatwick or Heathrow it will say Disney Magic to London, GB

That's good, no problem, i presume like Barcelona, they will have coaches lined up, and you decide which one to get on, Airport or City etc.

PS They never checked if we paid for transfers in Barcelona, it is marked on your KTTWC, but the drivers didn't check, you could have done it for free.

It would be my luck that they would check mine that 1 time in 100 !!:rotfl2:

Main board post DCL going to Hawaii,

Better hold back in saying anythnig more,

Also Hong Kong.....

;)

Must search for my old posts......

OK, I got the year wrong................ :goodvibes

Yes, maybe they have closed the loophole, overall DCL guests are honest, we paid Port>Airport one way, I did my own Airport>City, and City>Port.

But whilst its shown on the card, it was never checked, anyone could have got on. We just had a list of coaches, IE A for Airport airlines A>K or something like that. Would assume they have different coaches for terminals 1/2/3, or 4, or 5, as they are not joined.

Can't wait to get home and see if ours arrived :cool1:

We plan on using our Capital One cc to avoid fees. Will get some pounds sterling, euro, rubles, NOK and Estonia krone to cover meals and incidentals as we DIY in those cities.

'Morning all

Have to take the Mini for it's yearly service today. :headache:

Did the Mini pass its check up?:)

I cannot figure out how to multi-quote, but I am still in for the postcard exchange.

And, I just got Euro's & BPS's from AAA- you can order any countries currency from their website if you're a member. There was a fee, but it was minor considering the convenience. Eexcept I keep checking the rate and of course it's gone down.

No fees on my credit cards-it is from the vendor for paying with a credit card. We have tours scheduled in Copenhagen, Berlin and St Pete that will be cheaper if we pay in cash as they pass on the credit card processing fee. But hate carrying that much cash:headache:
May just pay the fee as we are still saving money over the DCL excursions-just not as much.

:thumbsup2 Capital One credit card is what we will use while in port, just looking around for the best deal for currency exchange so we can bring at least some cash with us for our transport to the hotel.
Don't recall seeing a Bank of America around here though.

I think we'll also join you - if that's allowable. THere may still be cider/scrumpy left!

Celestine

DH was at the mini plant today watching them produce minis for the American market which will be shipped from Southampton on Friday. He also saw a couple of world wide exclusive vehicles & has a DVD which he'll bring along if anyone wants to borrow it

Celestine

Fine with me!:thumbsup2

Do they go down the line backwards for us yanks as we drive on the right side of the road!;):lmao:

That would explain all of Barb's Mini troubles :rolleyes1

That or the fine German engineering!:rotfl:

If there's no Scrumpy left, we can find lots to drink in Warnemunde. :drinking1

I'd love to see the Mini DVD but don't know how we'd be able to watch it. :confused3
Very cool he was at the plant.

Hey, hey, hey Robert....this time was just yearly maintenance. Too funny about going down the line backwards.
