7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

Alexa has helped a little bit, she said there are brick arches along the alley. :rotfl2: There are many brick arches in the old town.
But Jay remembered it was down the alley from the art shop where the artist sets up his easel in the alley.
Had I known that we would be going back to Tallin I would have made a note of exactly where the glass shop/studio was located. :headache:

I guess they could have filled the freezers with only Mickey bars and still not had enough for all the European sailings. But knowing how much we all love them you would think they would be able to find a supplier that carries something close to them.
okey dokey then, we'll just look for the brick arches and the artist with his easel set up! Please tell Jay and Alexa that I DO appreciate their help! :)

Is anyone else flying British Airways to get to London? We are booked on BA, and we're kind of getting stressed about the strike; just wondering if anyone has any experience on how worried we should be, and what we can do about it?
Since right now the strikes are only through June 9, I'm not concerned yet. We'll just see how it goes.

Not to worry, they may not be Mickey-shaped, but there are plenty of yummy chocolate-covered ice cream bars sold from carts all over that part of the world, or at least there were when I was last in Scandinavia and the Baltics. There was one called "Magnum" that was really good. DCL should stock up on some of those!

I can't see DCL stumping up the $$$ for Magnum's as good as they are - more likely they'll get "imitation" ones. However in the UK in the supermarkets we do have a Mickey Mouse shaped icecream bars on sticks that are endorsed so maybe they could stock up on those instead:rotfl: I can just see the catering managers stood in Morrisons & Waitrose (the 2 supermarkets I've seen them in) with trolly's containing nothing other than Mickey bars. Not the same by any stretch of the imagination & youngest DD has already thrown a strop when we told her!

This is one of the great memories Madison has of our last cruise. Her and Papa getting Mickey bars every night from room service!:sad2:

On the planning note, we should be getting our exchange money on Tuesday. That's one thing off the list.

Have a great time Andrew! I hope you and your family rest up for the Ballyhoo!

Thank you a day on the beach today, Lindos has a big natural harbour an inlet that is nearly a full circle so no waves and little tide as its the Med. It was hot today 30c we had four sunbeds and shades kids went on pedalos out to the bay, we had lunch at a beach side taverner, and then tonight its a greek night and bar, really nice as our villa backs onto the pool(1 of 3) and bar and restaurant,.

Seen the donkeys !!!!!!!!
They ran out of :mickeybar???? :scared1::eek: My dd is going to be heartbroken!!:sad1:

In the Med in 2007 it was little pirate bars people didnt like, i do not get the lack of supply of mickey bars in Europe, DLP has them and there everywhere there now thats easy to ship to Dover or Barcelona.

For give typos typing in the dark in the bar on a machine without spell check and 10 mins time.

We are flying BA , July 14. Not worried. I have confidence they'll get us on another flight if necessary. We have 4 days before the cruise so that will help. Seems like it's always something with the airlines !:headache:

Maryann you must take pics of Robert with his Scrumpy that early in the morning. Can you say blackmail pics...?!? :rotfl2: :drinking1 :lmao:
We will want to hear all aobut your ride as well. :thumbsup2

Blackmail pics it is!!!!!!:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Posting from Rhodes Greece sunny 30c blue skys great villa next to the pool:)

Glad to see you and your family are having a wonderful time. If DCL ever cruises the Greek Isles, we'll be the first to book!

I have actually started a very "Type A" packing list for our trip. I have wonderful new luggage that I'm itching to pack. My children, Caleb and Ivey, have joined the thread for kids for our cruise. Now that school is ending, they are getting excited as well.

We are riding the bus to Dover that Celestine so kindly coordinated. I think we are riding with the Kouris?

We have planned a day in Liverpool because we are big Beatles fans.

On top of all that has to be done before the trip, I am also running for a State Senate seat! Never a dull moment around here :cheer2:

Can't wait to meet everyone.
Beth

Wow, Beth, Good Luck with the campaign.

Caro, Alexa says 'you're welcome' and I'll tell Jay when he gets up to go to work tonight.

MaryAnn, I'm so glad you are 'up' for taking the blackmail pics of Robert and his Scrumpy. :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :drinking1

I was on DCL's website a bit ago and noticed some brunch spots open if anyone is looking for them.
I was actually looking to book the spa villa for 2 and the only times that were available were times when we are in port. Will have to book that as soon as we board. I would have booked it last month but DH just told me last night he wanted to do that again. :headache:

We were on BA once with one of their strikes and it wasn't nice. We drove up to JFK and they kept pushing back the flight time and finally at 11:00pm they cancelled the flight and bused us all to airport hotels and set up a dinner buffet. They were very good about making sure families, especially those with small kids were on the first bus. Finally at 1am we had eaten a little bit and were in our room. We had no luggage, only our carry-on's, and Alexa was still in diapers at the time. I'm glad that I had overstocked the carry-on with diapers since we definately needed them. They put us on a flight the next day late morning. It was a stressful time for us since we had to be in contact with our friends over there and they had to arrange for someone else to pick us up from the aiport.

Thanks Barb. Just checked but nothing was available for Brunch. Guess I'll keep trying.

Very strange, brunch is still showing up for me for 1-2 people. Wonder if it's because we are gold? :confused3

That is really weird. I'm not sure why that would make a difference, but it must. Still shows nothing.

Caro, Jay says you are 'most welcome'.

:wave2: Good Morning All :wave2:

Good Morning Robert and all others

I have control of my FaceBook and Hotmail accounts again.:thumbsup2

It felt strange not being able to check my e-mails and friends updates.
