7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

I'm not a great cider lover, but did try some at the place we bought it & the 2 went together quite well. The Cheddar was a really nice creamy one. My lunch had about 0.5pounds on the plate so I bought home what I couldn't eat. I'm sure the love will last at the bar over some JD or something!

Thank you for those kind thoughts!

Your welcome:lmao:
I guess it is my tendency towards motion sickness that made me think of it:confused3

BTW, to reassure those on my bus, I will be taking plenty of bonine with me:rolleyes1

My first drink of the day will be the sail away drink at the party that afternoon:woohoo:

Which reminds me...anybody planning on doing any of the wine tasting or martini tasting on the ship? My DH doesn't drink and I could use a buddy to go with:confused3
You can drink my champagne glass at the wine tasting as I am not a champagne drinker:upsidedow

I might be interested in a wine tasting

not into beer or martinis though

:)

have a great weekend everyone

:)

Laurie, I might take you up on that depending on when the tastings are. :thumbsup2 I had never tried a martini until a couple months ago in Riviera Maya at a Martini bar. If you eliminate the salty rim, they were actually pretty good. Went to a tequila tasting event as well. Now there's some good stuff. :goodvibes::thumbsup2 My DH stays away from the hard stuff as well.:worship:

'Evening all.

Had a fun afternoon/evening in NYC yesterday for DD's 16th b'day.

Time to get back into planning mode for this cruise. Plus I still have to book a flight to go to FL in June and possibly fit in a 5 day Wonder cruise the end of June. Sounds like I better get planning.

Tried the martini tasting last time & definitely not to my liking! Have done wine twice now, so wondered if they may go for something topical like vodka tasting? If they do, I'm definitely up for that one, or maybe that should be falling down:rotfl:

Morning.
I'll be up for wine tasting.

I need to take advantage of the 3 day weekend and start some serious planning.

I was hoping to tag along with someone that is going...but is anyone interested in maybe getting together on the first sea day for a wine tasting:confused3 Assuming they have one that day:rolleyes1
I guess depending on what is available-we can chat about it at the port?

Celestine-I'm not a fan of the regular martinis, but like the fruity or dessert ones. But yes walking back to the cabin after the martini tasting (especially if there is a rough sea) is a little challenging:rotfl:

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ALEXA

Busy, busy:thumbsup2

Thought I saw some good prices for flights to Florida though.
Do you know what you are doing in the Baltic ports yet (beside St Pete)?

I might want to go, depending when they are!

I think the drink tastings are usually on sea days. The only time I've seen them on a port day was on a 4 day in Nassau and I figure that is because repeat cruisers will skip that port more often to stay on board.

Timing is usually between lunch and dinner:confused3
But I guess they can have them in the evening as well...anyone else know?

I'm at Palo for dinner on the 19th, but wouldn't mind a wine tasting around 3:00 or so.

Of course there are 3 other sea days to choose from as well:confused3

Usually the wine tastings are different each time-different theme or country. We can chat at the port while waiting to embark or while in line for Palo Brunch reservations (assuming I'm gonna see many of you on that line;))

Good afternoon....just to let you know Robert the first batch of Scrumpy is in my possession :woohoo: You should have seen the guy who sold us it, Celestine thinks he had been on it all morning! He nearly fell over going out back to pour it from the cask. I asked for a container of the strong stuff, we did taste it and it is nice although strong. 7.5% A.B.V Millwhites Whiskey Matured. I will ensure it is put in the fridge onboard the coach and chilled ready for departing the County Plaza:thumbsup2

Bit of product info
Millwhites was created to celebrate the White family tradition of cider production over the past 100 years. Millwhites Ciders are made from organic windfall apples grown and hand selected from their own orchards in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

Millwhites Cider is fermented and matured in oak barrels using the juice of whole pressed English apples. It is made of a unique blend of cider apples free from harmful pesticides and chemicals and, unlike other organic ciders does not contain any sulphites. This creates its distinct taste and appearance more in keeping with the traditional ciders enjoyed by our ancestors.

Premium Organic Medium Dry Cider (7.5 ABV) - Made from windfall apples grown and hand selected from Millwhites' organic orchards. It is fermented and matured in oak whisky or oak rum barrels using the juice of whole pressed English apples.

See you onboard

Paul:thumbsup2

I'm so bad.....Alexa and I will now be platinum for this cruise, I just booked us on a 5 day sailing next month. Gotta love those FL resident rates.

Now does anyone know if having someone in the cabin that is platinum and under 18 give the adults in the cabin the 'free' Palo dinner? She's booked in my friends' cabin and they were a cat. 4 GTY and just rec'd their cabin assignment today and we all couldn't be happier with it, they are almost directly above us.
