The packers just left for lunch and I have an hour to myself and a quiet house

The living room has been emptied except for tv and couch - though the tv remote has been packed and tv unplugged and disconnected from the cable - lol

All my furniture in living room is in the dumpster - hard to see part of your life just tossed away

they are starting on the kitchen - they are even going to be taking the dirty dishes and wash them and then pack them up for me - told them they could come by every day for dirty dishes

Still no accurate time frame - and get this - all this work is being done and I have not received formal notice from insurance company if my claim is actually being approved

Did anyone buy some amber jewelry from the special table on the boat and still have their receipt???? I bought a ring and the stone fell out the first time I wore it. I called about getting a refund and they keep asking me who the seller is listed on the receipt. Unfortunately I don't have mine anymore bit I don't recall their being individual jewelers listed on their, thought it was more of a generic receipt they handed us at time of purchase.

We also bought amber from the table and I have the receipt that the girl gave to us (not the charge card receipt). The receipt has no vendor name on it just Disney Cruise Line printed at the top. It looks like it was torn off of a pad. Under item description it just has numbers and how many of each we bought with the price. Maybe there were several vendors represented at each table and they mixed up the pieces on the tables. Anyway, you can tell them there is no vendor listed on the paper receipt. Good luck. DCL should make good on it, - after all, they kept drilling home how it was genuine and guaranteed.

You should try to contact Nadia in Treasure Ketch. We had a pair of earrings fall apart that my wife purchased from the Amber event. She was able to find a replacement pair and they were exchanged with no hassle whatsoever.

Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since our cruise. I still think about it all the time. I think for me it was the best one so far. I am putting together my album still, taking my time to get it right.

1st time on the blogs since I've been home, I need to catch up on reading the posts.

I am so sorry your amber broke, I looked at the receipt and mine was the same, no vendor name at all, just a random receipt pad with what I purchased. Good luck with getting it fixed.

I was wondering if anyone purchased too many of the Russian Easter Egg ornament with the little girl face on them and would like to sell any to me. They were $15 and I should have gotten more than I did. So if anyone wants to eliminate their stash, I would love to buy them.

Can't wait for the next cruise... We booked the nowhere cruise out of LA, just a weekend Drink and Eat fest on the Wonder. Have never been on the Wonder. Hawaiian Mickey will be with us on this one as well.

Hi, sorry to hear about your jewelry. I just found a little card that came with me amber. It looks like a card of Authenticity and Directions for care. The name on the top is Valerio 888, I googled them and there is a website. Hope this helps you.

just a drive by post

house clean up is still going on - just about 1/2 of the house is either packed up and going to be cleaned and stored or in the dumpster - more in dumpster

should be done in next couple of days - it has been slow going as carpets are still wet in part of the house

sounds like insurance company finally found me a apartment and supposed to have furniture delivered Friday - they are signing a lease for 6 months - I am sure hoping it won't take them 6 months to complete

Just catching up on everybody's progress since the cruise. Marla, what a mess to come home to. As long as they've found an apartment for you and are allowing 6 months, don't push it. An acquaintance of mine had the same sort of situation happen to his house and they were out for much longer. That whole MOLD issue is what they are concerned about. I sure hope things happen much quicker for you though. We thought about you as we drove by that church with the burned out Jesus on I-75 last weekend.

Maryann and Barb, great job on getting your pictures organized enough to be printed. I have most of mine labeled, except for the SPB ones. I bought one of those Disney photo albums on board so will just print however many that album will hold. I've never done one of those online albums but I know they turn out great.

We've been busy this month preparing our basement for new flooring, carpeting part of it and installing a rubber flooring in the other half. Costs more than our cruise did This is the final phase of a multi-year remodeling project so we are both glad to see it coming to a close

Not ready to see summer end and cooler temps head our way. Anxiously waiting to see when and if DCL will do an eastern Med cruise. Right now we don't have anything else booked with DCL. Guess we'll have to plan a trip to WDW for sometime next year.

Just booked a 3 day Dream cruise for next September - have a friend whose DD is getting married on Castaway Cay. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

House is finally dry and everything has been removed - well except for my computer desk, computer, bed and tv

Apartment has been found and the rental furniture was delivered this afternoon - it was kinda of fun - they first brought in boxes - one for bathroom, bedroom, kitchen etc., and while we unpacked boxes, all of the furniture was brought in, mom and I were finishing upwrapping everything for the kitchen and the 2 guys were making my bed

Electric will be turned on this weekend and cable/internet/phone hopefully by Tuesday

They are hoping to start mold demo Monday or Tuesday

Haven't decided where I will sleep tonight - here or there

I did kind of figure out when the DVC member cruise might be for next September 2011. Process of elimination on the website. I know with your teaching, you and Tom can't do those, but that's what we're going to try for so we can cruise on the Dream. Hopefully the booking day that Disney sets later this year is one that allows me to call in with multiple phones We have a trip scheduled for Panama in October 2010 which we are looking forward to.

Will they be tearing out the drywall up to the water line? When Nashville flooded earlier this year, my son helped friends with demolition and he said all drywall, paneling etc had to be torn out up to the line the water reached. It was unbelievable the pictures he sent us of the contents and building materials from the flooded house that went out to the curb/dumpster. I sure pray that your project gets completed in the proper way so you have no future issues with mold.

As of now, the "plan" is to tear out all of the dry wall 4 feet from the floor and hoping the mold stopped before it got to 4 feet. That way, they might have a chance to just replace 4 feet of dry wall through out the house - but you know what they say about best laid plans

Bathroom will be a total gut to studs though - no way they can save any of it

Got most of the few personal items that I was taking to apartment moved this weekend, but still have a couple more boxes and then my current clothes.

Removed my metal switchplate covers that I might want to keep, plus key rack from kitchen, and nightlights that I can keep
