7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

So relieved and excited ...
My rechargeable batteries for my cochlear mplant came today:banana:
These batteries are moisture resistant so I don't have to worry if it rains:cool1:

So looking forward to hearing you all:goodvibes

Hi all,
I have already started a TR for the Ballyhoo: Ballyhoo TR

Enjoy and we look forward to meeting everyone.

Would black capris, a dressy top and black sandals be underdressed? I have plenty of dresses to wear if it would be.

Not at all. Current forecast is warm but with possible showers, but it changes daily and is very localised

Is it really crowded, and is it worth doing the Fast Past type option?

Thanks so much - and I'll be here until Thursday night to keep people company...

If you are early risers & can get to the eye for when it opens, personally I wouldn't bother. If you are trying to tie into other things, then you probably best off with the fast pass

Celestine

Completely packed ! We leave out of Dulles tomorrow evening !

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the "Greet" ! Also, wanted to thank everyone for all the helpful tips and for making the last 12+ months pass a little faster ! :surfweb: :cool1:

Now, let's go have fun !!!:dance3:

2.5 more days of work.:hourglass
Then we fly out Fri afternoon. So I'll still be with y'all here 'til the bitter end.

OK, tonight I REALLY need to start packing. No more procrastinating.

Hi everyone. Made it back home from FL about 1:45am Mon. morning. DD did a lot of driving coming up I-95 and did a good job. I was surprised there wasn't more traffic on the road.
I've lost my voice for the last 3 days and it doesn't seem to want to return anytime soon. Here's hoping that it comes back or they may think I'm too sick to board the plane or the ship. But it's allergy related and I'm not sick.

DD & DH picked out their clothes yesterday, I guess I'll head up and do mine in a little bit. It might be nice to have more than just the clothes I'll wear on the plane.

Yes Robert, we are still talking.....or at least one of us has a voice to talk.

My English friends called last night and they have their parking reserved at the port and are looking forward to this cruise more than we are. They have about a 3 hour drive to the port and should be there when our bus arrives. So if you see an English family of 5 waving frantically at the Ballyhoo buses you will know they are with us.

This time tomorrow we should be arriving in Merry Old!

Yes, I've the heard the lines for the London Eye can be very long. We have a combo ticket that includes the London Eye, river cruise and Porter's for dinner and we have a reservation for the London Eye at around 3:45 pm on Friday (follwed by the cruise and dinner). Many of us have this combo package and will be meeting then so if you can make it at that time it would be great

Maybe someone one has the exact times can chime in- I don't have it in front of me right now.

We are not getting in until about 8:00pm London time on Friday. We wanted to do it Saturday, but probably even longer lines.

Wow, sounds good. Have some chocolate and Scrumpy for me until we get there Fri. morning. Hopefully my voice will be back by then, but at the rate it's going now it may not be.

Went into London yesterday to see some stuff and did the Eye/Cruise/Porters thing. For those of you doing it - nobody had any clue where Porters was and when we called Porters to get directions the gal working there gave us vastly incorrect directions that ended up with us on the wrong side of the river so here you go:

Turn left as you get off the eye/cruise. Go to the train bridge (first bridge you come to) and go up and walk accross it (yes there is a pedestrian part of it). Go through the train station and then (I apologize for this part) turn right and go 1 block, turn left and go 1 block, turn right and go 1 block, turn left and go 1 block, turn right and you should be on the street with Porters (Henrietta) and it should be a couple of buildings down. At a minimum this will hopefully get you in the correct area at least. About a 10-15 minute walk is all.

Today we went out to see the Cantebury Cathedral and Dover castle. We got lost in the city center of Cantebury and I somehow ended up driving - yes DRIVING through the pedestrian mall there. Kept running into dead ends where they had the big bars so that a car couldn't get from the street into it. Finally found a way back out but that was....fun :scared1:

Back to London tomorrow for the changing of the guard and other stuff. Safe travels everyone and if you find yourself driving through a pedestrian mall you can safely smile knowing you are not alone! :)

Putting the finishing touches on everything. 1 1/2 more days of work. :headache::headache: We leave on Thursday evening.

I did part of my packing this afternoon, will do the rest when DH leaves for work tonight. Then tomorrow it's running around and getting the rest of the stuff together. Printed off StP tour tickets, DCL paperwork and a couple of other things. Gotta make passport copies for StP, will make 3 of each to be on the safe side.

I was not asked for passport copies at all.

Not saying don't bring em, just don't spend a lot making them if you're paying for copies.
