7/18/10 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo Part 6

Agree - unless you have a box, or it's opening night etc. As long as you are smart you'll be fine - I think they'd draw the line at shorts, sunvest & flip flops!

Celestine

Would black capris, a dressy top and black sandals be underdressed? I have plenty of dresses to wear if it would be.

Just checking London weather and they are calling for rain on Thurs. and Fri. Maybe they are wrong? I also see rain for Cophenhagen and Berlin when we are there. I just have to stop looking.:confused3

You guys are in for an AMAZING cruise!! I went on it in June and had a blast!

Can somebody please video tape the "If I Were Not Upon the Sea" skit by the cruise staff on the last night and post it to YouTube? I seriously regret not video taping it. Would love you forever!!

Plan on warm weather! :thumbsup2 I kept checking for the June 24th sailing and we brought to many cool weather clothes!:laundy: Ended up buying two polo shirts in Copenhagen! :rolleyes1 Also brought a light rain jacket and used it just once and that was in St. Petersburg when we had a thunderstorm at the end of the trip.

From the looks of the trip reports, it seems you folks had the best Baltic weather so far, not too hot, not too cold.

Some souvenirs we purchased on our last Baltic cruise in '09 :

OSLO......sm wool lap blanket made in Norway
COPENHAGEN.... pastries ( we ate them )
STOCKHOLM..... sm carved wooden horse, tiny Swedish doll
ST PETERSBURG.. 2 sm laquered boxes, handpainted, amber cross
TALLINN.............. Best amber prices ! Bought a bracelet

Magnets from all the countries & some candy

What I'll look for this time :

OSLO..........another lap blanket (stupid me..I washed the other & it shrunk)
STOCKHOLM.. another doll ( I collect them )
ST PETERSBURG... hand-carved Santa...they're beautiful and I was sorry I
didn't get one before
TALLINN............ linens , maybe an amber penndant ,yellow, if I can find one

Happy shopping !!:flower3:

Gina,
Thanks for the info. Ohhhh! I love/collect Santa's  That will be fun to look for in STP. I'm also hoping to find a set of nesting dolls for DGD in a Disney Princess design. I know they paint them with sports teams and everything else you can imagine, so I'm hoping for Disney Princess':lovestruck
If not, we'll just go for dolls. I like to take them back for the DGD's.

Well, had my haircut today, need to still pick up more packing envelopes from the $ store, make sure all our documents are in order, finish putting together our travel binder, sort the foreign currency :scared1: and hopefully be able to sleep the next few nights instead of worrying of things to do.:upsidedow:eek:

I emailed the company that is supposed to be providing our transfers (recommended by Celestine/Paul) with our flight details but I haven't heard back from them. Guess I might have to PM Celestine/Paul, but I know they're busy with houseguests :confused3

DCL Concierge called my house around 3 today to let me know that my excursion for stockolm will start earlier:headache: at 8:30 so as to be over before the ship departs.

I believe that the original start time was between 10 & 11 :cloud9:

Oh it is Stockhom Vasa & the Royal Armory!

I thought for sure that anyone who would be affected would have been called earlier. Many have already left. At least you got a call and it just means you can't sleep in! ;)

Robert, I'm sure we'll run into eachother (hopefully not literally :lmao:) at the Royal Garden. You are arriving Thurs. like us? If we don't meet up, we'll definately be waiting for the Ballyhoo bus together.

My DW was checking out the Royal Garden's Hotel Web site & noticed the Chinese & Dim Sum restaurant in the hotel (we both love Dim Sum) to which I replied what will the children eat?

So we googled MCD's & KFC & found 2 of each close to the hotel 1 of the MCD's is opent 24/7:lmao:

It's just like the USA but without the Dunkin Donuts!:scared1:

Nope we arrive Wednesday Evening!:thumbsup2 Morning flight as I cannot sleep on a plane (unless I had a business or 1st class sleeper seat, not for 6 of us!):rotfl2::laughing::dance3::grouphug:

I can't sleep on a plane either. :sad2: We usually hit the ground running when we arrive. By 6pm we are ready to crash. That's why we have ressies Thurs. eve for the Absolut Ice Bar. That should keep me awake!

We Are on that same tour, no call or letter. I guess they will tell us when we get on board!

First rain delay...now plane has mechanical problems and we are stuck in Atlanta. We are definitely ready for a Disney cruise....now if we can only get there.

Is it really crowded, and is it worth doing the Fast Past type option?

Thanks so much - and I'll be here until Thursday night to keep people company...

Good Morning All

Yes, I've the heard the lines for the London Eye can be very long. We have a combo ticket that includes the London Eye, river cruise and Porter's for dinner and we have a reservation for the London Eye at around 3:45 pm on Friday (follwed by the cruise and dinner). Many of us have this combo package and will be meeting then so if you can make it at that time it would be great:thumbsup2

Maybe someone one has the exact times can chime in- I don't have it in front of me right now.
