7/13/2016 Magic Copenhagen to Dover Geothermal Cruise

DF, I just went into my reservations and just noticed that on one of my tours that I have booked for Reykjavik (snorkeling into the blue), it says in the more info part that it is not available on July 19th or 20th. I don't know if this is new or if I just never noticed it. But I booked it when I booked all my tours. I don't know whether me booking it when I did is a glitch and I shouldn't have been able to book it. I am wondering if I should go in and cancel and pick a new tour before general booking opens up so I am not left with nothing for that day.I am doing the golden circle the day before with a small group with Extreme Iceland so I was looking for something adventuresome to do the second day through Disney. I don't know why I was able to book it if it is not available and other options I would have picked are now gone.

How odd? If it wasn't available then it shouldn't have allowed you to book it, but I am aware that on past cruises DCL has withdrawn port adventures for various reasons. This is contradictory so I would advice not to cancel it but call DCL ASAP and ask, it could be they updated the site and then will be contacting those who book this trip, or you may just see it cancel one night, I have known that to occur. You do need a contingency. So call DCL ASAP, and ask them. There are errors on the port ad enters one in Kristainsand says the train trip lasts five minutes so they get it wrong. I would " guess" as this is specific that they will cancel it, - sorry, but do call them before any action.

Ok.Thanks. I will call in the morning. Yes, it is very odd and it still shows up as being able to book. I am glad I went back in to read the info and saw that before it is too late to change to something else although my second choice is already gone. At least there are a few other options I am interested in.

You can always change to something else that's available, just go in select the new port adventure and it then will come up with a " clash" screen, prompting you to choose between the two, if you choose the new one, the older item will cancel.

Yes, I did do that just to see what happens and it does show a clash. I called Disney and the rep told me I was ok with my booking. It shows up as fine. She said not to cancel it, but I am not too sure because the read more section specifically states our cruise's two dates as not available and maybe it is just not in their system yet. I think I am going to call back later and just verify that advice. I will be checking all my plans carefully now.

You would hope if you called and its wrong then they would correct the website.

What is everyone doing when we debark in Dover? I looked, but couldn't find any Disney Adventures. :(

Also - any advice on hotels for a family of 5 (I know, we'll need two rooms).

You are correct there are no DCL port adventures to book in Dover. Many of this cruise meets group, are booking transfers with independent operators, such as https://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/dover_london_transfers.htm here you can visit other attractions in Kent or London, some are going to Harry Potter, or Windsor, one us going to Didneylsnd Paris.

Transfers expieranced in 2015 are listed here,

For hotels I assume you are speaking about London, now many cruisers in the last few years gave stayed st the Premier Inn County hall, http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/greater-london/london/london-county-hall.html?cid=KNC_Brn|_G_UK_UK_Eng_Enc_LO_London_EX&mckv=sy1ZVcM5t_dt|pcrid|48163409019|kword|premier inn county hall|match|e|plid|&gclid=CIXc8NHDpcwCFUko0wodl9IN1w, now it's at the budget end of the market but the rooms are ok, and it's centrally located near the London Eye and a cross from Parliament, it's near railway stations like Waterloo East, can connect to Dover, and Waterloo for national rail to Windsor, or tube to Paddington for Heathrow.

At the more expensive end there is the Thistle Marble Arch, it's located near Oxford Street, for shopping, and where the HOHO has a start. http://www.thistle.com/en/hotels/un...gclid=COit8K7EpcwCFUmeGwodQVoJ2g&gclsrc=aw.ds. It's near the Central Line tube for getting to many places, including, Ealing to change for Heathrow.

This is great, thank you! I was thinking of booking a hotel in Kensington, close to the playgrounds for my kids who are little. Anyone have strong feelings about doing that/not doing that?

Kensington is nice, it's a quite posh area, tube includes High Street Kensington , no issues there, it's safe, no excessive construction, and by bus or tube about 15 mins to central London, the west end, and 20 to the city. You can use circle line and district line from there.

This one is good, http://www.royalgardenhotel.co.uk/ and I know this one, near the tube stations at High Street Kensington, https://www.millenniumhotels.com/en/london/copthorne-tara-hotel-london-kensington/?cid=gplaces-tar and not far from Earl's Court and Gloucester Road.

If not in a hurry into London, the fortifications and castle in Dover are actually worth a look before continuing onward. In London the north side of the Thames is where people usually go look for hotels. Kensington, Bloomsbury, Bayswater, Soho etc. But nowadays it's worth to take a peek at the south bank too. New and renovated hotels have risen in the Southwark area in past years, and riverfront hotels like the Mondrian (high end) or Mad Hatters Inn (3 star) next to Blackfriars bridge, or the Novotel (4 star) a bit further south at Blackfriars Road are well situated for seeing sights like the Tower and Tower bridge, Tate Modern etc. I used to favor the north bank out of sheer habit, I suppose, but happened to stay in Southwark last year. Was very pleasantly surprised.
On the north side The Nadler in Soho is quite nice as although them being a hotel, they have a mini kitchen in the rooms.
