7/13/14 Dream Cruise

So I think I will just live vicariously through you all. Be sure to post lots of pics for the rest of us post cruise.

I guess this was a kind of stupid statement, since this is a race ... you won't be taking a lot of pics, so how about just relaying the how it went post cruise.

:)

All the race talk is really making me want to do the Castaway Cay 5k. But the talk about it being Hot and no shade makes me think I will skip it. I hate being told I can't do something, but since this is vacation I don't want to do the walk and then have to spend the rest of the trip on recovery or have something worse happen, I have to be very careful of heat and over exertion. So I think I will just live vicariously through you all. Be sure to post lots of pics for the rest of us post cruise.

It's really not that bad. Last year was an extremely hot day, so I slowed down and just enjoyed the surroundings. I finished about 15 minutes over my best 5K time, but I was not going to kill myself since we had a day of beach fun ahead of us.

Plus you do get the Mickey medal at the end.

We are also on this cruise (7/13). It will be my husband, my youngest daughter (22) and myself. We might be interested in doing a FE
if its not a crazy amount of people. Last time our FE had about 60 people in it and it was out of control. Took forever to deliver the gifts!

Welcome! I am so glad there will be some Dis-ers onboard. I was beginning to worry!

What decks/ areas are everyone on? We booked the rear stateroom on deck 9. DH really wanted one of the big balcony rooms so we're giving it a try this cruise.

We have 2 rooms on deck 9 and 1 on deck 11.

He'll only be 11, so maybe next year for him.

BTW are you running the Legoland 5K next month? It coincides with our trip and I ran it last year. It's a lot of fun!

No I will not be doing that one-never knew about. I have only done the RunDisney ones-was going to try to do some local ones but schedule is always crazy!

Welcome Aboard!!

My best friend had to back out of this cruise, so I'm really bummed. She has run out of vacation time because she is still with her mom while she's in ICU. So it will just be my youngest Christopher-10.

Anyone else Platinum? Today is the 120 day mark-I have Palo brunch and dinner booked for now. Don't know if I'll keep both. I will definitely keep one since I get a Palo meal free as one of the platinum perks. It's not as much fun on your own, but love the food!

What are everyone else's plans?

We are on deck 12-Julie do you have a concierge room as well?

Yes, I think we got the last concierge room and only by luck. This will be the first time and probably the last, but since the price was not as outrageous as some of the other sailings, we went for it. We usually do the FE but I hear they are harder to do in concierge so I figure we will skip it this time round. I know the kids will miss doing it, but I'm sure with everything else on the ship it will be short lived disappointment =).

I'm sorry she can't make it :(. It will still be a great trip.

We're still at silver. I can't make reservations until April. We did Palo brunch on the Fantasy last year. It was great. I hate to miss my dinners at the restaurants. I am asking for the double Animator's Palate rotation. It's my favorite.

We got the deluxe family one and it wasn't a big jump to that from the reg deluxe with verandah. We have done the FE exchange in concierge. Our group dropped our stuff off at the concierge lounge and the staff in their is great and got it to us. The cabin host also let others in thru the gate. This is our 3rd time. Can't do it with the whole family though! We'll have to see if we see each other in the lounge the first day. Loved the free water, didn't have to bring any, the goodies throughout the day in the lounge, the coffee machine, the happy hour before each dining rotation. Ask for the bagged popcorn for the shows/movies. Didn't know about that our first time and so only got to take advantage of that the last day. You won't have to go to guest services the whole trip. they can do everything for you-the concierge staff.

I like the restaurants too! I booked a 6pm dinner for pirate night. I will be done in time to take Christopher to the dining room for dinner and catch pirate show and such. We have late dining this time The pirate menu is my least favorite so if I go it's during that menu.
I love this itinerary-castaway cay is not the last stop so we don't have to rush back to pack!

Last time on the Fantasy the pirate meal was my favorite! But I don't eat red meat and I think a lot of the other menus might have been meat-heavy lol.

We're doing the main seating for dining. My kids can't last until eight to eat. Plus they are early sleepers, so by the end of the shows they are ready for bed. They did stay up late a few times for the pajama party at the kids club though.

Wow, everyone is so quiet! Since there seems to be so few of us, would anyone be interested in doing a FE exchange? Looks like it would only be a handful of cabins.

I wouldn't mind doing the FE. I usually do, but this year we are staying in concierge. I thought that would make it difficult to participate, but I have recently been told otherwise. So if it is doable we will participate. Right now I will just commit my one stateroom. 11000. If it is a small FE I might add one of the other rooms or both as I think they would enjoy it, but I know it will be be making all the gifts, so we will see how big the FE is so I can judge how much time I will need to get it all done.

Should we say a cut off date of June 1 for the FE? That gives us about 6 weeks to prepare and maybe we'll get a couple more folks joining us.

I have always found a cut-off date to be helpful. I would just allow a few days for late sign-ups. I have always had a few ppl want to sign up a day or 2 after the cut-off date :)

I'm in. We are in concierge as well. The cutoff is good. I won't really be able to work on stuff until after the first week of June anyway.

Hi All!
This will be our first cruise and we cannot wait!
We would love to be a part of the FE group.

We would love to be added to the FE group! We are cruising for the first time with my DH and two boys (6 and 4 at cruise time). We are also traveling with my parents and my SIL and her DH.
