Well, we are back from the best cruise ever!! The cast- myself, dh, and 2 dd's 8 and 11.
7/9- Friday
We flew down the day before the cruise and arrived at MCO at about 9am! We rented a car, and drove down to Port Canaveral. We had ressies at the new Ron Jon Resort.Because we arrived so early, our room was not ready, but we were allowed to use the pool and facilities. We kept the bags in our car, because they said the room was full. We kept the important bag with us( documents and canera). We had lunch first! We sat outside to enjoy the weather. The food at the hotel was excellent! My dh had a burger that he said was the best he ever had! I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was excellent! The kids had hot dogs and chicken strips! We used the pool all day! The slide was a lot of fun as was the lazy river. At about 2:30 the room was ready! We had had enough sun and didn't want to get sunburned(and ruin our cruise) so we went to the room to get ready for dinner! We ended up eating dinner there too! Another great meal! After, we drove around coca beach and returned to play mini-golf! We wanted to get a good night sleep and be ready for the morning!
7/10-Saturday
Check out was a breeze. There was a man in the lobby making balloon animals. He made my dd's a mickey hat and a donald hat!We ate breakfast at a local restaurant, then drove to the cruise terminal! We arrived too early and weren't allowed to be dropped off because they were still letting people off the boat. We then drove to Avis, dropped the car off, and a shuttle was waiting to take us to the port! By then, we only had to wait a little while, for the porters to come and check our bags! We were off to the terminal! It was 10:15 by then, and I was first in line to check in!!We had to wait til 11am, but a line formed quickly!! Check in there was quick. We were waiting to get on the ship now!! We were able to board around 12:30! Since we had the REAS package, we didn't have to run around for Palo or spa ressies! What a nice addition! We signed the kids up at the lab, then off to topsider's for lunch!! The food was plentiful! When I saw the peel and eat shrimp I immediately thought of Rae!!LOL! After lunch, we were able to go to the stateroom with our carry-on bags, and get ready for the pools! We swam for awhile . We had a DIS meet planned for 3pm at preludes! It was so nice to meet up with everyone that we chatted with before the cruise! Hi Judy and family, Mike and girls, and Pam and Alana! After our meet it was time for the life boat drill! Yes, it was hot and we looked funny! Now the time we have all waited for- the sail-away-party!! The girls had fun dancing and blowing bubbles!! And don't forget the Disney Magic horn!! It still gives me happy memories! We waved good-bye to the cm's at the terminal and they waved back with the famous Mickey hands!! We were on our way! We had the eary seating, so it was hectic trying to get ready for dinner by 6 this day! We had the PLA rotation. This brought us to Lumiere's for formal night and Animator's for semi-formal. We met our servers Pierom, from Thailand, and Ella, from Mexico! They were so much fun! Pierom gave us brain teasers and showed us magic tricks! We had a great table #5! We were seated with our neighbors!! After dinner my dh and I went to the welcome aboard variety show, while the kids went to their clubs!! They were making friends fast! Dh and I were all alone to explore the Magic!! Til tomorrow!!
