7:00 EMH worth it?

Some people swear by it but not me...I prefer to wake up leisurely then close the park out strong at night when you can get just a much done in the final hours that you do in the early hours as the crowds thin out cuz everyone else was up at 6a for 7am EMH!

Seconding this. I am always disappointed that early entry is not at 7:00 during slower times of year, because the fact that hardly anyone gets up that early makes it ideal. We especially like it around Christmas -- there is nothing quite like leaving your hotel to walk to the parks while it is still dark.

It will be this Tuesday, so still part of spring break. I might still try to do it, though. I haven't been to DL since 1989 when I was very young, so I'm hoping the excitement will help me get up early.

The earlier the early open, the more worth it it is. For the obvious reasons. The harder it is to get up that early, the fewer people will actually do it.

DS is an early bird so 7:00am EMH is worth it for us especially since he rarely stays up past 9:30pm.

Lately it feels like it's more worth it for California Adventure (more rides open) than Disneyland due to more people using Magic Morning Hour from their tickets but for us it just depends on the how we feel that morning. We mostly use DL EMH for Space Mountain and Star Tours (skip Fantasy land) then wait at the rope entrance to Adventure Land for INDY FP. We always head back to the villas for making late brunch then kick it til later.

Lines are the shortest they'll be all day, maybe they'll be shorter at the end of the night, maybe not. In my experience we get more done in the morning. We can hit all of Fantasyland besides Peter Pan, we can do RSR SR, Soarin', TSMM on a good DCA day (we've also had bad DCA days that are complete busts because basically everything was down but my last trip was great, no EMH days were busts). We don't get to the gates early, we get there a few mins after opening. We do EMH so we don't have to wait, so we're certainly not gonna wait for the gates to open! My favorite tricks are RSR single rider & Matterhorn single rider. If a ride is closed, move on to the next!

If you don't want to do EMH? Then don't! It's YOUR vacation, do what will make you happiest

You won't need a coffee after riding Space Mountain at 7:05 in the morning. Trust me. It's a greater thrill at that time, especially if you just roll out of bed and make your way to the park.

I'm the same, not a morning person. That being said, when I went in the summer, I found EMH worth it. Beats the crowds and the heat. Then head out for a break around noon when the crowds are really pouring in.

I second this advice. Do it your way since it's your vacation!

We were at 7am EMH last month and we took my parents. Growing up we never got to the parks when they arrived... so, when we told them that we would be out the door from the hotel at 6:30 am.. they were not feeling it... well, 7 am rolls around and just in the first hour we conquered over 5 rides! They were amazed and can't wait for the next EMH drop!

Another fan of EMH at 7am. Family not so much UNTIL they get to the park. Last visit was still quite busy at that hour for some rides (e.g. Peter Oan) but a lot are walk on for that first hour and still quiet in the second hour.

Even better is DCA where it is only open for hotel guests. We once did TSMM 4 times in a row because no one else was there!

My daughter and I once did California Screamin' ten (10) times during early entry. Several times we did not even have to get off because nobody else was waiting in our lane to take our seats.

I have found that I don't like doing TSMM during 7 am early entry because the ride is understaffed so it is extremely slow to unload. It really hurts to watch those precious minutes slip away while the ride is over but you can't get to the unload zone.

I would add to this that 7 am early entry is the best time to ride Dumbo. I would never wait more than three minutes for that ride, but during an early morning hour it is a walk-on, the air is cool, the sun is just rising, Fantasyland is sparkly clean and uncrowded. Nice start to the morning.

So no an early riser.... so EMH are hardddd! I love closing out the park and well... it is hard to do both lol. We did do an EMH once and it was great, but as i just mentioned... mornings are just not our thing!
