7:00 am flight from LAX?

Another question... Would you take a 7:00 am flight back home (International - to Canada) from LAX? We won't have a car, so it looks like the shuttle services recommend pick up from the hotel at about 2:25 am. Yuck.

It seemed like a crummy flight, and I'm inclined to book during the summer instead, but I just thought I would ask...

Thanks again!

FWIW, shuttles need to leave extra early. Taxis do not. If it was a weekday I would do 7AM do avoid traffic and missing the flight. I would get a taxi pickup at like 4AM for an internattional flight to Canada. For a domestic I would do 4:30AM. I would pay extra for a taxi to get extra sleep.

Another idea is to stay closer to LAX the night before. Then you can take a hotel shuttle at 5AM (5 minutes from airport) and get a whole other hour of sleep.

A decent place where we have stayed is here:

This is what we have planned to do too. It was much easier to get a hotel near LAX the night before and "sleep in" then to worry about getting transportation at that hour. We have a 6:30 A.M flight out.
Hope this helps you!

I think a flight at this time is not so bad, actually, especially if you're leaving on a weekday. LA traffic can be ridiculous, but that early, the traffic is not really part of the equation. By 7:30am, however, traffic on the 405 can be slow and unpredictable.

Last August the Dobies flew in to LAX to save money but flew out of SNA to save sanity.

It worked!!!

We thought about staying at/near LAX on the Thursday evening too. We were wondering what to do with out bags all day while we go to Disney? Would the hotel hold them until night time even though we have checked out already?

Thanks again

Most hotels offer this service. I am always a little nervous leaving something like a laptop bag with the hotel front desk but I have done it at DLR and other places around the world and have never lost anything yet. If at all possible I bring my laptop with me unless it can be zipped into a luggage bag where no one can easily see it is a computer.

I totally agree with this! we did a similar thing in Orlando after WDW last year. I didn't want to leave super early and worry about traffic, so we pricelined a hotel near the airport. It worked out great for us (we did have a rental car, though - so no baggage problems).

I would also recommend bringing locks for the bags if you are going to leave them at the desk - and lock all your bags, not just the one with the laptop in it! Another option is to have one carry-on that you put the valuables in, take it with you and put it in a large locker at Disney. You'd want to check the size of the lockers in advance (while you were there that week) to make sure the bag in question would fit.
