One thing that bothers me about the DCL is that they take an odd shapped picture. I can't find any frames for my 6x8 cruise pictures.

Anyone know where I can find them? I've done several searches on the Internet and didn't come up with any US sites that carry them although I did find a couple in the UK. I guess it's more popular in Europe.

Anyway, I also bought the Chef Mickey's picture package on our trip last week and they, too, are 6x8! I asked around WDW but they didn't have any. I don't want to just shove these pictures in a drawer or box!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I found some at Michael's Craft Store. They are a chain store here in the Northeast, but I do not know if they are national.

They did not have a big selection, but they had "document" frames that were 6x8. The were a gold frame and worked out nicely.

Hi,

Try Ritz Camera stores or on the internet. I was able to purchase some nice 6x8 frames a few months ago from Ritz Camera on line for my cruise photos.

Hope this helps.

We bought 2 frames on board but cut down one picture to fit into a 5x7 frame.

I have done both, purchased the frames on the ship, and cut a couple down to 5 x 7. Works either way.

Those frames are tough to find.

I found a couple of nice frames at a Kohl's near me. They had a silver, and a brushed brass tone. I tried a couple of Michael's, but they were out. If you feel really creative, you could also go to a Great Frame Up, and make your own frame, and mat!:)

We went to our local framing shop and she framed all of our 6x8's and the 5x7's of the ships and characters that we purchased. It looks terrific (but was fairly spendy). Several of the 6x8's she cropped down to 5x7. I think that the cropping method is probably the best way to go since there are so few 6x8 frames available.

We have a few frames that are in a stand. you just put the photo between two pieces of glass and insert in the base stand. Know what I mean? It is clear around the edge but looks very nice.

FYI - on the Magic last week they had their 6x8 frames on sale in Mickey's Mates!

:-)

After our first cruise I had 7 6x8's that I didn't want to waste, so after ruling out paying $15.00x7 at Mickey's Mates, I did a little digging and founf that Michael's Craft Stores will cut a custom mat for a large frame. I bought a 24x36 poster frame, simple gold frame, and had them cut an ocean colored mat specifically to fit all 7 pictures. The frame was about $20.00, but you can use the 40 or 50% off coupons tosave and the mat was about $40.00. Significantly less than I would have spent on individual frames and all hang together in our living room.

Good Luck!!

Chris

I would love a small photo album in that size (for the 6x8 pics) but have never seen one. On the ship all they had were ones with the 'magnetic' pages that fit any size.

Any suggestions?

I was going to say that you could also purchase an 8x10 frame and mat the photo to a piece of acid-free cardstock or patterned paper. Your selections of papers are endless. You'd need to cut the paper down to size. If you don't have a paper cutter, I imagine you could easily find someone to cut it for you (or do it manually by measuring and cutting with shears. As a scrapbooker, this would seem like a feasible option- if there was something I did not want to cut out of the 6x8 by sizing it to a 5x7.

Check your local scrapbooking store. I bought an adorable Mrs. Grossman's mini album for DD to learn how to scrapbook in and it would work well.

As for the frames, try Exposures.com - it's all picture related stuff.

Kohls Dept store has them, you can also find them online too (Kohls).

They had 2 different types when I was there 2 weeks ago.

When looking for them some frames say they can be 6x8 or 5x7 so watch for that also.
