I still need plates, napkins, forks an a few spoons I've given up on getting the 60th anniversary themed tableware ...every source I have came up with has been in the UK an want payment in pounds not dollars DH not going there (long story)

Anyone got a source for cheap tableware? I need lite purple, white an silver.

Looks like I can get napkins printed with the event an name an date as cheap as I can buy them plain. I'm thinking white napkins silver print lite purple an silver plates an cups or should I just go with the stryofoam cups to save money?

I still need a cake topper parents are not going to want to save it so no sense in buying one even a cheap 20.00 one it would be a waste of money. Icing is out whole family has diabetis an can't eat all that sugar.

The tissue paper flowers I made are beautiful but will not work on cake...I might try parchment paper n I have another source of paper that is shinny an very pretty that I might try an we might just run a swirl of flowers around the cake an then arrange them on top of cake......if we have to there is always cheap silk flowers that I been trying to avoid as I have made all the flowers myself.

I have made almost all the decorations myself already had the tissue paper for flowers, the stems had to buy silver spray glitter. I've used what my family always called wrapping paper for other decor it's more like what the mylar balloons is made out of but blue an silver shinny.

i've gotten glitter white an lite purple with glitter rose petals....on sale at less than half price, jordan almonds for 1.50 a lb. In other words so far the stuff I have bought has been cheap but the plates an tableware stuff is killing my budget....

I recently hosted a large party and priced out options for plates, napkins and utensils. After adding up all the costs and really thinking about it, I decided that sturdy plain white plates, clear plastic utensils and nicer white paper napkins were absolutely fine.

I bought at Walmart and Costco in bulk. I just couldn't justify (to myself) spending more for color or fancy. And no one cared! I did have pretty tables though. I used white fabric table clothes (my own and some borrowed). I put assorted arrangements of roses and other greenery from my garden on the tables. Some were in real vases and some were in recycled jars. I also used my flameless candles that I bought around Christmas. It was simple and beautiful. Lots of great comments.

If you do decide to go all white and non personalized, you could add color by wrapping the utensils in napkins and tying it with ribbon and adding flowers or greenery or a personalized tag. Goodluck with everything!

I threw a 60/40 party for my parents (they both turned 60 and were married 40 years). I don't know how fancy a party you're throwing but ours was an outside fiesta in our backyard. We had a "Taco Man" cook tacos to order in our backyard, we had a margarita machine, blah blah blah. We had plain plates and silverware. For color, I added nuts and customized M&M's. Some said 60/40, Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Mom&Dad...They were really cute. I kept an extra bag and gave it to my parents after the party and they loved it.

We didn't want to pay for a cake topper either so we just ordered special Ice Cream Cakes (they were huge and we had no idea how huge :rotfl:). They had really pretty writing on them.

Have a great party and have fun. Remember no one is going to what your plates and silverware looked like:thumbsup2

AC Moore (craft store) in the wedding area may help (they also take coupon which is generally 20-40% off)
Party City, Party Hardy are all stores by us that have every color there is and has small and large pkgs that run fairly inexpensive (and themes abound)
AN ONline store is orientaltrading dot com........(I checked, plug in SILVER or ANNIversary in search, there is plenty!!)
They have MANY things party related and are reliable and state side.used them many times for parties, school and scout things too.

Good Luck and Congrats to the couple, 60 years is Amazing! :cheer2:
