Question for all of you that have stayed at POP. Wondering if it is worth the extra money to stay in the 60's building. I will be going with my DH and my DS (5) and DS(2-1/2). I like to be close to everything but wondering if it is really noisy in those buildings. Would like any input from those of you who have stayed at the 60's and the other era's. Thanks.

We thought the layout of POP was much better than any of the All Stars. Eveyrthing is pretty close...not like the long walks at Music!! ANyway, We were in the 70's "B" building (I think) and just a quick hop down the stairs and a matter of yards to the food court. We were a little further from the pool, but since we weren't swimming, that probably worked out better for us anyway.

For me, we travel in 2 rooms, so it would be $10 per room to upgrade and I personally wouldn't pay the extra $20. I wouldn't even pay $10 at pop because it is all pretty close.

Good luck!!

I stayed in the 60's section in a perferred room last month, and I was glad I did. I was ground floor and facing the Pop jet area, and it was an easy walk to the food court. It was a bit of a hike to my car, but not that bad.

I really liked how close everything was, since I was at CBR on my prior trip in October and was placed in Trinidad South. I was so far from everything there - I actually resorted to driving my car to the foods court since it was such a hike. After that experience, I loved how close everything was at Pop Century!!!

It was definately worth it to me, since I could not be placed in the "boonies" this time! :)

I just spent 8 nights at PC in January. If I had paid extra for the '60's I would have been ticked off. We drive almost everywhere and move our own luggage. There is no parking lot close to the '60's. We were in the '50's A bldg, it's just as close to everything as the '60's for $10 less per night. It wouldn't have been worth $80 for us to be 30 seconds closer to the food court and farther away from our car.
JMO, I'm in the minority here but I'm just giving you the truth.

We were in the 70s building facing the foosball court and I was sure glad that I didn't pay extra for the 60s. We were maybe 2 minutes from the food court and not too far (2-3 minutes) from the 80s/90s lot where we parked. If I stay there again I will request a room facing away from the pools or foosball to cut down on people walking by the room making noise late at night.

T&B

we stayed in the 60s building just a few weeks ago and it was great....we didnt have a car so we didnt have to worry about any parking issues but we were on the second floor looking at the hippy dippy pool....kids swimming all the time....there was no noise.....when we go again in december we will reguest to be in that building again......its worth it...your right by the food court and the buses ...everything you need...

Thanks everybody for your replies. One more question. Can I wait until we get there to decide if we want a preferred bulding or do you have to have it reserved ahead of time?

i am not sure about that one..you might wanna call and ask......

I think if you have decided you want the '60's section you should ask for it when you make your reservations. If you wait until you check in, those bldgs might be full.

If there is availablity, then you may decide at check-in to upgrade for the additional $10 per room per night. During peak times, there might not always be availability for the entire length of stay.
