We just booked this for peace of mind. Last time we went I was able to get one for $300 for the week. For $600, I might consider disney transportation but hate to rely on the bus schedules.

Anyone have any advice?

I have read on a couple of posts to go on Priceline and name your price.. I am pretty sure you won't get this deal ($20 a day) for a minivan but maybe $40 a day, that would save you half..

Have you tried carrentals.com? I use them everytime I need a car rental. They have the best rates that I can find. Good luck! :flower3:

I second carrentals.com. I find the best deals thru them. Does it have to be a van? Can it be an SUV?

Are you staying on site?

Surprisingly, I have found that sometimes a car is cheaper renting from the Care Care Center than the aiport (Alamo/National). You can take ME from the aiport to your hotel and they will send a shuttle to pick you up and take you to rent your car.

Try Budget using BCD Number x474200 (travelocity public code) and E-Coupon MUWZ056 for $30.00 off. I just tried May 14 - 21 and got $272.96 after $30.00 coupon is applied when you return vehicle.

Try a location away from the airport. There are several DTD hotels that have rental counters. (Dollar at the Wyndham for example). We take Magical Express to resort, then later in the day take the bus to Downtown Disney and walk across the street to the Wyndham and retrieve the minivan. Like you the airport location listed a minivan at $600 while the Wyndam site had minivans at $290/week.

What a great tip! Thank you so much. I just found out about taking ME then using the Car Care Center for the rental car. Didn't realize the other DTD hotels had rental places as well. What is the Wyndham site (or do you just go to the Dollar site)? Thanks so much for sharing! :thumbsup2

I. too got an outragous price from Alamo but budget and hertz are less than half the price. we have always used Alamo because of the location at the Dolphin resort has anyone used Budget or Hertz on property? are they just as easy?

I go straight to the Dollar Website. Enter Orlando (ALL LOCATIONS) as your pick-up location (not "MCO").

Check "mousesavers" They list all the DTD hotels with rental counters. The Car-Care Center has Alamo and National I believe. Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort has Dollar. Doubletree Guest Suites has Budget.

Perfect! I get the mousesavers newsletter. This will help us immensely on our trip next year. We are staying on site with our children and always get a rental car; we are still at the stroller stage. But, my kids also like ME. This way we can do both. Thanks again. It is greatly appreciated. :woohoo::yay:

We rent right from the Toyota dealership. We always get a Toyota Sienna this will be our third time renting from them. I think its $65/day we use our own insurance and unlimited miles. I like the fact that there are no hidden costs, most rental agencies seem to charge for every little thing.

THANK YOU ALL....just booked for $395 for the week with Thrifty.
You all just save me enough to treat the family to a special lunch a Pizzafari. HA.HA

This board rocks...

Which dealership is this? Do they come and pick you up?
