I'm sitting here listening to the news. If I heard right, a one-day ticket will be $60 after the New Year.

I guess they figure if you're gonna spend $58 now, what's another 2 bucks?

Actually, I think the thought process was that if they make one day / one park tickets more expensive, people will look at other ticketing options, thereby extending their stay or creating the opportunity for another trip in the future. Personally, I think they should do away with one day / one park tickets altogether and have the one-day park hopper option as the only one-day ticket you can buy. And maybe during particular events -- like Epcot Food & Wine or Super Soap -- you could purchase one day "event" tickets just for those parks, if you were there specifically for that event.

But that's just me ... :)

I love the option to chose, and just didn't think the prices are that steep for the return we get. Where else in the world can you go and ride multiple rides as many times as you would want, see numerous varities of shows and amazing parades and fireworks for $60.00 a day? There isn't any other venue that I know of. Just some rationalizing on my part! :D

yep, and that does not include park hopping. Oy!
Just a FYI, one day tickets never included park hopping. So now WDW is actually adding that feature. Before if you wanted to hop with a single day ticket you had to buy another single day ticket for each park you wanted to hop to. For instance, under the old policy(using new prices) if you wanted to go to 2 parks but were only staying one day, it would cost you 120. Now you can add the hopping feature and only be paying 95 AND you could go to all 4 parks not just 2....I really can't see many people paying the 95 bucks, but you never know.

I am so confused. We were planning to save 1 day on our 5 day park hopper. ( leaving in 2 weeks for the world ). We will be going back in May to celebrate with my goddaughter for her 6th birthday over a 4 day weekend. We thought there was always a chance we would buy a one day pass when we got there. How much will it cost us to buy an additional day ? Is that even possible to add on to our 1 day left on our hopper ? I told you I was confused.

Well a 1-day ticket to Sea World is $58- people have no problem paying that.

Universal charges almost $80 for a one day "hopper" ticket and that's only 2 parks.

Disney's prices have always been competitive with other theme parks. They are actually a great value if you think of what you are getting for your money compared to other parks. The MK, for example, has much better rides, theming, etc. than 6 Flags New Jersey- yet a one day ticket is about the same price. -Steph

If I understand this new system, you would have to buy the two day MYW ticket for 119.00 then add the no expiration (10.00 on a 2 day) option. The no expiration is not available on a one day. To hop, you would add the 35.00 hopper option on top of that. Whew....

Would you go right ahead and buy a ten day non-expiring hopping pass with plusses for $415? (includes tax)

Using my formula for valuation, that gives you ten theme park days at $33. each (list price $64.) and five water park / Disney Quest visits at $17. each (list price $33.) and you can use them at your leisure for short vacations.

Disney hints:

How did I come up with that valuation? I gave a theme park day a two point count and I gave a plus visit a one point count. So we have 25 points. $415 divided by 25 points is $16.6. Two points for a theme park day means $33. (rounded).

I agree with you.....WDW no matter what! I'm all over it! :Pinkbounc :wizard:

I did just that right before my last trip. We actually got 10 day non-expiring from one of the off-site ticket sellers for $387. (We actually had enough days on our last tickets but figured it was such a good price we'd get them now in case we wanted to use a plus for Disney). That is a great price for 10 days and 5 pluses!

I'm thinking about buying the 10 day pass w/hopper & non-expiration options for our upcoming trip. We can definitely get 2, possibly 3 vacation trips out of these tickets, so for $2207 (advance price from disney.com) 2 or 3 trips is a pretty good bargain. Plus, it gives us an excuse to go back!
