60 Days Sentence for Child Rape in Vt.

I heard this on the news the other day and now Bill O'Rielly is talking about it; A man convicted of raping a child repeatedly, from the age of 6 years old for FOUR YEARS, was convicted. The perpetrator confessed! Yet Judge Cashman said that "punishment and retribution is not the answer and will not solve the problem". This convict needs to be put on ice for years. Did the judge think he was sentencing someone for a traffic violation? This judge should be impeached tomorrow. I know that Vt. tends to be liberal but this is ridiculous.

what a crock of tired old poop! My friend in Arizona was 18 and had sex with a 14 year old girl, he didn't rape her, she consented to it, but my friend went bragging and the girl's dad heard about it and my friend was arrested and he was sentenced years in prison.
This guy that raped the 6 year old deserves to be in prison for life.

I think it's awful, he should have gotten a much harsher sentence.

14 years old shows up in the post that I am reading. With regard to your friend, a 14 year old child cannot consent to sex with an adult (18) In some states, proximity of age mitigates that. There is a big difference between 14 and 18 however. If I were the Dad or Mom, I would have pressed charges too.

while i agree with you totally dawn i think liberalism has nothing to do with it and you are lumping alot of liberals in with a man and his decsion and that isnt fair or balance as mr orielly would say
its funny if this was a conservative judge and he did this and some one made the same statement you did but insert conservative in stead of liberal you would flip out

I believe that there is someone who is pursuing his impeachment. I would think it would be up to the citizens of Vt. and no doubt, this will push them over the edge. The guy is avoiding the press now.
