this is the first time that i have booked a Disney trip this far in advance 10/2-10/6. my 60 day window opened up today. i didnt know that i was able to book FP+ for the whole trip. FEA was already booked out until 10/5 and 10/6. both of those days had FP+ but the they were toward night time 4:15pm and on. has this happened to anybody else?

Yep. We're staying at WDW for just two nights before a cruise in late September so basically were unable to benefit from the full-stay FP+ availability that you get for the later days of longer stays. As a result, we were getting FP+ for a park day just 61 days out and the earliest FEA time available was 4:30 p.m.

i wonder if they are not giving out earlier FP+ for FEA right now. which wouldnt make sense but who knows.

Epcot may have made an adjustment in the quantity of FPs in the system to enable the Standby line to move more quickly. Or, they are planning for the slower season with less ride capacity overall. No one really knows how Disney calculates staffing and ride needs.

I don't think so. I have seen them as early as 11:00 am. When my window opened a few weeks ago, the first day had one around 8:30 pm, which I was able to change to 5:00 pm today and will still be looking for an earlier time. The second day had one around 3:00ish, the next day the earliest one was 1:30ish, and then the remaining days (I am there 10 days) all had availability starting at 11:00 am. I think they have the first couple hours standby only to clear that initial rush out of the queue so the wait isn't as bad as it was the first few days. Just a guess . . .

yeah that makes sense. give less FP+ in the morning so you could handle the rush of the crowd
