Today was window for 6/4 trip. Reservations onsite 6/4 and 6/6. The system let me book fastpasses only up to checkout 6/7. I had five day tickets - I thought I could book all five days. I talked to a cast member who said the 60 day window was only the days of resort stay, so 6/8 was excluded. I know in the past it has been different when I booked. I went ahead and extended my onsite reservations to book 6/8.

With a Split Stay, you'll be able to book the rest of your park days at 60 days out from each day.

It's explained in the Split Stay section of the FP FAQ and in the first post of the Throwaway Room thread - read the Rolling Window perk.

Yup, 60 days from 6/8 you will be able to book that day. If you had longer tickets, then the following day you would be able to book 6/9, and the day after 6/10 would be available, and on and on.

I just had a different experience. Poly reservation 5/20 - 5/26. boardwalk reservation 5/26 - 6/03. Made fast passes for both trips at the same time when the window opened for the 5/20 trip. Was not expecting it, but it did make getting fast passes for pandora a whole lot easier :)

Because your Split Stay is onsite to onsite and the FP booking window opens and remains open through checkout day of Stay#2.

I'm so confused by this - I thought Disney didn't recognize a split stay and only recognizes 2 separate resorts as 2 separate reservations entirely. So the 5/20 would be one reservation and the start of 180 days/60 days from 5/20; and then the 5/26 reservation would be a 2nd reservation and start out 180 days/60 days from 5/26?

For FPs, onsite is onsite whether it entails 2 Stays or 5.

It's ADRs that has a different open function.

Everything FP for Split Stays in explained in the FP FAQ at the top of this forum.

Right, but OP didn't have a 2nd stay, at least they didn't indicate that they did
