6 year old Prince Charming?

My 6yo DS has discovered "Cinderella" and watches it all the time. On our last cruise, he was very envious of all the little girls dressed in their princess costumes and wanted to dress up too. After the 167th time watching the movie, he realized that it would be appropriate to dress up as Prince Charming when we do our 2009 Land/Sea next June. Unfortunately, the official Disney Prince Charming costume only seems to be available in Small 4-6, which will just fit him right now (he'll be 6 in Nov., actually, but is tall for his age), and will certainly be too small by next June. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get an authentic costume for him that's closer to a size 7? It must look like Disney's Prince Charming (blue jacket with epaulettes, etc.) or DS won't go for it.

Does anyone have the Disney 4-6 costume and can tell me if there are sizeable hems on pants and sleeves that might be let down? He's tall and slender, so this might work!

Oh, that costume is cute. I've never seen a Prince Charming costume before. I assume you've already scoured the web and this was maybe the only one you found? Do you sew or know someone who does? Fabric and craft stores have all types of lovely trims, patches, and fabrics. You could probably even purchase a pair of regular slacks and have someone add the trim on the sides and sew up a jacket with some neat trim. Good luck - I bet he'll be adorable!

I agree. I'm not sewing-minded at all, and that looks pretty easy to recreate. Good luck!!

Try checkin out the disboutiquers on the family board. They are wonderful with sewing and could probably make that outfit for you. I know mant of them sell their outfits so go over and ask!

That's so cute, but isn't the prince's jacket supposed to be cream colored? :confused3

Disney Shopping and the Disney Stores may have some closer to Halloween. You could also call the WDW Merchandise number and see if they sell them anywhere on property. I don't have that number but know someone around here does!

I guess they want it to match with Cinderella's dress... :confused3

Thanks for all the advice! I've posted with DISboutiquers, and since my sewing skills are non-existant, I'll hope one of these ideas works out.
