DS rode ToT at age 4.5 - several times - but was too short at the time for the RnRC, so the entire family skipped the ride. Now almost 2 years later he's tall enough. Since we'll be in Florida anyway in June, he and his sister have persuaded me (OK, they really twisted my arm!) to take a really short trip to WDW just so we all can try the coaster together.
Our family has no fear of roller coasters in general. DS wasn't thrilled with the darkness at the Haunted Mansion or BTMRR (or the noise in the cave/mine part), but ended up loving those and riding them many times. He also endured the noise and darkness of ToT because he really enjoyed the drop. The most "grown-up" coaster DS has ridden is the "Poison Ivy" ride at Six Flags New England. That one is faster than a kiddie coaster but still has no inversions and is outside (i.e., light). I've talked to DS about the speed, inversions, and darkness of RnRC, and he's still game. However, I want to be a little more sure. Thoughts?
