I heard it advertised on the radio, but can't remember who does it. I was wondering if any DISers have done it and is it worth it, were you happy, is it expensive, etc?

I did this last year before vacation, I think it was around 25.00.

I didn't really like it at all, it was way too dark and it wasn't even in some areas. The color wasn't bad, it was just that I'm pretty pale and it turned really dark, it didn't look natural at all.

I think Mystic Tan is supposed to be 14 seconds on each side. I was just reading about it in the new Lucky magazine. Alot of the stars do it and it seems to make them look orange.

i'm very pale. i've yet to find a fake tan that looked natural on me, so i've pretty much given up and just decided to embrace the pasty whiteness that is me. :p

My MIL to be did it and yes, she looked orange the day she got it done. Luckily it faded and then she just looked like she had a healthy tan. One of my sorority sisters did it also and she had huge streaks by her ankles... luckily they faded as well. :) I'd be interested to try it I guess. It's a lot safer than the tanning beds.

I did it last year. Just make sure that when you dry off afterward, you dry off ALL over, and pay special attention to your ankles. You can't take a shower for about 5 hours or so, so DON'T do it right before you have to go somewhere! It was a little orange the first day, and I evened out the dark spots with a baby wipe. The worst part was the smell...that horrible self tanner smell. Overall I was pleased, you have to moisturize though, to keep it more than one day, and hope that no one wants to get romantic with you and smell you! Haha!

They are at Club Med in Ixtapa right now, did the Mystic Tan the night before. Unlike me (pasty freckle girl), they get good tans, so it looked fine on them. I think the key is to exfoliate well before going - just like you would if you used a cream at home. My sister has done it several times, but it was my niece's first (she's 12). She didn't like it - she said it was cold and gross. What we all do for beauty... :p

For us pasty people who want to try something at home, I have used the Clinique self tanning lotion (not dark), Bath and Body Works self tanning lotion (they had tangerine and watermelon scented), and Banana Boat self tanning spray - none of which made me orange. Sometimes when it is wearing off (after 4 or 5 days), you look orange, so exfoliate, and it just comes off. I am thinking about trying the Mystic Tan and seeing how it looks with my skin tone a few weeks before our anniversary trip. It sure would be less hassle than doing it myself.
