6 night deluxe, 9 Moderate, 12 value

just came back from the monorail for 7 nights....i felt like we did so much more because it was so quick...always going to epcot "just for an eggroll" and then MK "for a dole whip" it was so much fun. bad news is, dh is so bummed we are staying off it for next trip. can only stay deluxe one time a year, then we stay moderate on our spring trip. I think though, 9 days at WDW sounds mighty nice, so I have to say the moderate would be my choice... I hear great things about POP though, just don't know if I could commit to a value for 12 nights (just me personally) if I never stayed value. but then again 12 nights at WDW...mmnn...

I wouldn't want to stay at any one resort for 12 days! I like splitting stays even for short trips, but for longer than a week I would split for sure. Maybe 5 days at a value and then 5-6 at a moderate.

this is a tough decision, and one i've faced... last trip we opted for 8 days w/two rooms at a value... it was heaven... and probably what i would choose again *except* that i am hankering to try POFQ/R so might go for the moderate option, just to give it a try... but, since our family reallllly likes its space, i might shorten the duration to have connecting rooms again... even at a "big" mod (like cbr) the room becomes too small by the 6th or 7th day (yet by the 9th day w/two rooms at a value we were still quite happy and had plenty of room!)

Ideally, I'd make a fourth choice - 16 nights at the Campground!!!

But, within your poll, I'd choose 12 nights at the Value.

Why not get an AP for a discount and stay 4 nights at POP then do 6,7 or even 8 nights at POR which is a beautiful resort (might be a moderate but lots of people say it almost feels like a deluxe). With a good AP rate it will be more affordable. Try to stay at least 10 nights even if you have to do 5 at a value and 5 at a moderate :flower:

For me, it would be six days at a Deluxe. The resort is a big part of the vacation for me, so that would be my choice. I have to admit that I couldn't do Disney for 12 or even 9 days, so that influenced my choice. I know most people don't agree with me, but that is just too long for us.

I would do the value resort for more nights. These resorts are not bad and I would compare to a Holiday Inn or Hampton (without the free breakfast, coffeemaker in room, and a bit bigger). You could always eat at the deluxe or moderate resorts and you would be at WDW longer!

If you have children under the age of 9...I'd say MONORAIL resort all the way...6 days is plenty...we have stayed at the Poly, AKL, OKW, and will be at the GF in Jan.

If it's just you or you and a friend/spouse...then I'd say do the moderate and stay 9 days...there's more to keep you entertained (Downtown Disney, SeaWorld, Universal)...we like to go for 6-7 nights and only do Disney...we like to enmesh ourselves in it...but more than 6-7 days at Disney is overkill for us..we start to get tired of it...believe it or not...the nuance wears off and we find ourselves asking "When do we leave?" We don't like to do Sea World and Universal because it somehow breaks the charm of the week.

The transporation at the monorail is just too great to pass up if you're really sticking to Disney the whole time...but if you're venturing off the extra money just doesn't make sense. And I would have a hard time with the Value resorts...when we vacation it's a biggie about every 2 years...we do short weekend trips camping and beach stuff on off years....so our time to splurge is a time to say no to Motel 6 establishments....we want to feel pampered and have a nice place to come back to. If you travel every 6 months to Disney, then the Value would be great...I just think I'd get sick of Disney after 8 or more days.

Have fun!

I am leaning towards 9 days at a moderate. All the moderates are wonderful and you'll have a relaxing time. If you go to Disney often, then my second choice would be 6 days at a deluxe.

I'd probably go 12 nights at a value, but it depends on your family. We went to Disney at the end of Sept and stays at Movies for 9 nights and loved it. CBR was our first choice, but Movies was what our boys wanted, and it was cheaper. If we'd stayed at CBR, it would have been 7 nights. That trip was our first trip in 7 years to Disney. We're planning another trip for 2006, and it will be split between CBR and CR if I have my say......but it will be a little shorter than the last trip was.

If you get to go often, stay at the deluxe for a shorter trip if that's what you want to do. Or the moderate for 9 nights would be great too, sort of a compromise. It all depends on what you want! No matter how long you stay, it's never long enough, at least not to me. I'd rather stay where I can stay longer since we don't go very often.

Enjoy your planning and deciding, and have a great trip, no matter where you stay!
