We will be travelling with DD6 months (at time of travel). We have taken a 1 year old before (and various ages there up) so understand riderswap, I know about the baby stations etc however I'm not sure how well DD will be sitting independently by then-on rides can she sit on my lap? And can she stay in a baby Bjorn?

It probably depends on the ride. Something like It's a Small World or Pirates, I would think she could be in a BB or sit on your lap. Winnie The Pooh is likely to be a favorite for a 6 month old but that can be a bit jerky at the end and I would pay attention to that.

Dumbo just has those seat belt things so a BB might be best (if it is allowed). Teacups she would need to be held, I would assume.....

I brought my 2 month old 4 years ago and was able to keep him in my moby wrap for most attractions. I know on Roger Rabbit they have to sit up on their own. But POTC, BUZZ, HM, Pooh, and all the Fantasyland attractions he stayed in my moby wrap. We did not ride teacups with him.

When he was older they would let me sit him on my lap, even on TSMM (hold on tight for that one, they really whip you around in those cars!). I would just ask the CM at loading. Have a great trip!

They wouldn't let me sit my dd on my lap on the tea cups just so you know.

A lot just depends on whether there is a lap belt or bar...the bars keep you from keeping them in a carrier, really. We've taken our son at 5 months to WDW and 10 months to DLR, and for most rides we had him on our lap just holding him both times. I can remember doing this for Dumbo, Small World, Peter Pan, Pooh, Pirates, Toad's, Snow White, and several others. If I remember correctly, he was sitting up okay by then, just a little wobbly. I kept him in the Ergo carrier for ones that I could, especially when he was smaller, like Buzz Lightyear (he slept the whole time), and TTA (WDW). The only one that I was a little surprised by was when they wouldn't let me take him on the Golden Zephyr at DCA when he was in the Ergo. They were like "you have to take him out and buckle him in". Um, he's 11 months old, that's not safe, CM. So we skipped it. Which is fine, but by comparison, it seems far more "dangerous" to take him down the little drops in Pirates and Malestrom, having to just hold on to him (he loves them, and we held on tight)!

In other news, I think 6 months is basically the perfect age to take a baby. We had a great time.
