Has anyone else heard anything about the possiblity of 6 hour check-in times for flights from UK to US?

hi, i have also read about this and i am gettting very worried, i have epilepsy and couldnt stand for that amount of time as i would blackout, not something i want to do in a busy airport!! i hope that this is not going to be the case, lets kep fingers crossed that this wont happen!! susie

Wow!! I would definitely be sticking to Twilight Check In if this come in...

Where did you hear this information?

Thanks

Karen

Unfortunately, Glasgow Airport doesn't have this facility

Its only rumours at this stage, airlines are still telling passengers to checkin at the normal time(3 hours) before flights, I spoke to Virgin concerning this last week.
Twilight checkin will not be affected

Im sure somebody will post if it does become offical

this rumour came about because the us immigration want the airlines to check we are all eligible for entry b4 we fly thus taking longer to process each booking at the airport i am informed by my travel agent friend tho no word on when it may happen

we are using twilight anyway thankfully

Does anyone know when this is going to start if it does?? Manchester doesn't have the twilight check in either and i would not fancy getting up at half 3 to get to the airport for half 4 to stand around for 6 hours deffiantly not with a 3 year old. Do they not think that it not a long enough day as it is:(

UGH !!!

Still it's one way for the airports to boost their earnings by having a captive audiece for an extra 3 hours. It would mean they could guarantee that virtually all passangers would have to eat at least one meal at their overpriced restaurants.

please could anyone give me info on twilight check in at Gatwick with Virgin

thanks

Turn up with all members in your party the day before & book. In you can go off safe in the knowledge your bags are on board, you have your seats & do not have to get to the airport too early the next morning. We have used twilight check in the past 2 visits & have never had to queue to book in, the airport is also quite quiet too. I think check is something like 6pm-9pm, but check in the Virgin brochure or on line

BA also do a version of twilight check-in. Both Virgin and BA only offer this at Gatwick.

Regards

Rob
