OMG! I just looked at a cruise for the first week of April 2017, and it's over $6,000. Navigator's verandah.

I can get the same week on RCCL's Allure of the Seas for $2,800 in an oceanview room. And no, all I can drink soda is not going to make up the difference.

Okay but if you are going to make a comparison you really need to compare "like" cabins: verandah to verandah or oceanview to oceanview.

Yes the prices are getting out of hand. How many people is that for and what cruise. Probably the fantasy as that is more expensive. But if I was Disney I will be doing the same thing getting as much money as I can.

OMG! Is that for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 people?

For 2 people on the June 2017 norwegian fjords/iceland cruise was over $13k. Needless to say, I chose another line.

Is that Easter week maybe? Plus Spring break is extra high too.

We are on The Magic in April 2017 for 2 cruises for 2 people a total of 13 nights in a Navigator for about that price.
Its after Easter though.

I was looking at April 8, 2017 Fantasy and the price is way more than we have ever paid before for 7 days.

Rerunning the numbers, a balcony on Allure of the Seas for a week is $3,300 for the 3 of us.

Nope, not Easter week. Easter is late next year.

We did our first DCL on the Magic 10 years ago. We are returning next week on the Fantasy. We are looking at $7000 for airfare, excursions and an oceanview stateroom. If it weren't for business card travel points we wouldn't be going. This will be our last DCL most likely. I'm blown away by the ones that have gone every year or dozens of times. Not judging, and kudos, but no thank you.

Ask yourself...is it honestly worth it? I had to come to terms with that in booking an Alaskan cruise for next year - just WAY too expensive compared to other cruise lines. I can understand a premium, but not when it's excessive...

Trust me, I am right there with you. For a party of 3 the weeks we can go on an inside stateroom, it is $5,700 - $6,500.

We are doing 2 inside rooms with a family of 5 for $8500 on the PC cruise after the Costco cash card. It's just over 9k without the TA. Frankly, at 4500/week for 2 rooms for 5 people, that is way better of a deal.

ETA: This was not with OBB discount :)

March of 2015 my husband and I did a 7-day Eastern on Holland America in an aft verandah for...$1100. This past March we did a 10-night Southern Caribbean (5 islands) that INCLUDED Easter on RCL in a Superior Verandah on the 'hump' for...$2300.

I love Disney...my family loves Disney. We always stay on property when we visit. But for a cruise? Nope. Can't justify DCL's prices at all.

I think it is during "Spring Break" season. That is an expensive time of year for Disney.
I got a Concierge Family Deluxe room for us for $5505 in December 2016.
IMHO timing during the year plays a big part on the pricing.

I'm assuming that's for a family of four? I hope it's not three. We are a family of four, and I would never pay that much for a Caribbean cruise. Our first cruise on the Fantasy was 5,300 in June. That is the most I have paid for a Caribbean cruise and honestly I would never pay that much again. We have been able to cruise a couple more times on the Fantasy with discounts. We have gotten some decent rates on the Magic and Wonder. At this point I'm not sure we'll ever set foot on the Fantasy again. If you want to the DCL experience I think you have to look at other cruises even European cruises are cheaper. We have sailed on the Wonder out of Galveston for a nice price and enjoyed it just as much as our Fantasy cruises.
