O.K., this is probably the DUMBEST question ever proposed on the DIS but here goes - got my package quotes for next year & basically there is only about 50.00 difference from staying 5 nights/6days with park hopping vs. 6 nights/7 days with no-park hopping.. Which would you do?? I know the answer will be stay the extra day at DISNEY!! Airfare will be the same I'm sure, and we would be coming home on a weekend, so no one is losing an extra day of "work" that they have to burn vacation days for.

I'm just worried will I get bored? MK is definitely 2 day worthy for my family of princesses, (IMO) but the rest? I'm not so sure, I like Fantasmic! but we did the rest of MGM in 3/4 of a day, I love Soarin! and Illuminations, but again we can do Epcot in 1 day, so is it worth it for me to not hop but spend an extra day at one of those just taking my time?? AK is a 1 day only for my family and I'm thinking with the EMH evening hours, I'll get an extra EE ride in there, so that will be fine with me..

Any thoughts/suggestions??

I would say the chance to take your time, look around you and see all the stuff you can easily miss when you are hurrying would be well worthwhile.

Why not make this an opinion POLL?

• chip91 will get bored.

• chip91 will not get bored.

I'm sure lots of DISers will know the answer.

;)

If it were me, I would see how much it is to stay the extra day WITH hopping! :)

Since things like airfare, school, work, etc. are not impacted, why not?

I like the ability to change parks if one gets particularly crowded, it pours (which it tends to do) or if there is a show/parade that I want to see. Not to mention, most nights we were at Epcot, just for dinner.

But, it depends on how you spend your park time. EMH would give you the feeling of hopping, if you took advantage of them, but will you and your kids be too tired by that time? Having never used EMH, I would be afraid of depending on that.

Also, if you don't "hop" then you also can't leave the park, swim or nap at the resort and then go back later, when it's cooler and less crowded. That's always been a life saver for us.

But, hey, that's me!!!! :cool1:

I agree with the above post--taking your time to look around at the easy to miss stuff. So I vote "no park hopper".

That's misinformation.

You don't need a HOPPER to leave "Park A" and return to "Park A" later in the same day.

(You just can't go to a DIFFERENT park later that same day.)

to the OP... i'd totally go for the extra day and not hop... we rarely hop... even when we paid for hoppers! LOL! you will easily be able to fill up six days w/out hopping... EPCOT can be a 2 day park (one day for future world and one for WS)... also, maybe you can do some add'l recreation like kids' pirate cruise or fishing excursion... there's plenty to do to keep you busy for six full days :)

you can absolutely leave the park as long as you return to the same park... we didn't hop last time and we took afternoon breaks... you used to get your hand stamped but i don't think they even do that anymore (cannot remember) but you can leave and come back as many times as you want...

Sorry, meant to ask for clarification on that--never went without a hopper! Luckily, there are some very well informed people on the DIS.

Stay the extra day, especially with 3 kids. We rarely hop, just pick out the park with the best hours for us that day, then stick with it. Our kids are going to be 3 & 4 this trip, so we plan to head back to CSR most days for some pool/nap time and then back to the park when it cools off and people start leaving for dinner time.

I would love to just stay the extra day & not hop (or better yet, stay & pay for hoppers! but that was a few hundred different), it will be Nov/Dec so I can't count on the weather being "pool" worthy, but I'm thinking who cares, we can actually take our time & enjoy this vacation, rather than the first offsite - 4 day PH's, almost killed the kids and great granny with 12 hour park days!

I guess it really comes down to who cares? If I can go back I should just take what I get!

No question...stay longer and park hop. :thumbsup2

We take advantage of park hoppers but its one area we can't really justify financially. We are always looking for ways to save money on our visits but we still purchased park hoppers during our last visit.

If not using park hoppers, pay attention to recommended best days and consider avoiding EMH parks because they tend to be more crowded during the day.

I am a hopper fan. I love being able to go from one park to another to see a certain parade or if you want to be in AK during the day but want to see Wishes at night, for example. Or, if you're in MK and the mood strikes to go on EE, go for it! (ok, maybe a little extreme but you can understand my idea! ;))

Of course, naturally, 6 days w/ park hopping would be the best but I'm sure that isn't an option otherwise you would do that!

Either way, you're sure to have a blast and have a great time on your trip.

OH SO TRUE!!! Just got finished purchasing my tix and I did exactly that!!]
Quite a difference in price from when I first looked into the tickets!! Glad to know I'm not alone.

Well we are sort of in the same boat, trying to figure out how to do everything we want and not go in to debt!:( Are you going to be on the DDP? b/c if you are ,I would definitly want to "hop" just in case a resturant you really want, might not be the same day as you planned on doing that park etc.... we are also thinking of doing POR since we have 3kids too, I think it is cheaper than getting 2 rooms?

We always add the hopper option. It gives us more flexibility if we want to go to another park. For example, one day we're doing Epcot and have dinner ADRs there. The next day we have dinner ADRs there again, but we don't have the intention of spending the next full day at Epcot again. So with our hopper, we can go to one park during the day, then hop over to Epcot for dinner. Or I think of it in terms of AK...it's not a park open through the evening/night. So we'll spend the first half of the day there...then hop over to another park for the evening. It's much more flexible.
