Hi All-
Just checking back in now that school and sports are winding down.

We've stopped in Tifton - not quite to Valdosta- and I would highly recommend the new Comfort Inn and Suites. Brand new hotel with interior hallways, very nice staff and a decent free breakfast.

Hmmmm...wondering if we can make it that far on the first day. Mapquest says from Chicago to Tifton it's 15 hours. We are planning on leaving around 3am on Friday.

We had planned to leave the morning of the 4th but my son is required to be at a trapshooting tournament we didnt know about until a couple of months ago so we are leaving as soon as it is over. Gonna try to drive straight through so that we can still do all that we wanted before cruise. Hope to get in a couple hours at Cocoa Beach on Sunday, Blizzard Beach on Monday. Staying at the Radisson at the Port.

I know most people are staying at the AKL pre-cruise, but is anyone staying at Port Orleans French Quarter? We will be there. We wanted to check out the newly remodeled rooms.

Finally got all of my FE gifts finished and I filled an ENTIRE suitcase with them--well, DH's snorkeling equipment barely fit in there! Guess that means I have an entire suitcase to pack souvenirs in?

Not too early at all!! I'm so paranoid that my luggage will be lost, that I usually carry on the majority of my stuff. Guess I'll have to trust them to get the FE gifts to my stateroom.

Has anyone else been reading about the swarming love bugs? Ick, we haven't had them bad here in a while and I surely hope they will be thinned out when we sail. I want to be able to stand out on my verandah as we pull out of port!

I am in Tampa and the "Love Bugs" did show up early this year - I think because it was very hot earlier than usual - they usually only stay around about two weeks - with that being said it has already been about 4 so I think they will be long gone by the time we sail!!! Lets keep our fingers crossed!

To whomever asked about the activity books - themouseforless.com has some fun printable puzzles and crayola has a bunch of printable coloring sheets. I "borrowed" from them to help with the activity books I'm making my neices for our drive.

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to check in again to say we can't wait to hit the ROAD!!! We're driving down from Dayton, OH... It's about 15.5 hours from here straight down I-75!!! We are leaving as soon as the kids get out of school one week from Thursday!!

Are we going to try and do a little meet at the port while we all sit around to wait for our numbers to get called??? We haven't really said anymore about this since it was first discussed.

And speaking of the parks, we're excited to see we'll be there for a Star Wars weekend and Star Tours is OPEN!!!! Can't wait!!!
