Balfour Castle - sold out

I was really hoping to go to the castle in Scotland. I can not pre-book until the 16th. Will they add additional tours to this, or am I out of luck?

Booked as well too. Sailed with Denise in 2007 and 2010. Not sure if we are going to keep it. Maybe you can all convince me. LOL... It would be me, dh, dd17 and dd14.

My DD17 saw my notes about the cruise on my desk and just about peed in her pants as she was really excited. UGH... wasn't planning on telling her yet. Noisy kids...

We booked yesterday (after 2 1/2 hr on phone) we got two cat 4A (on wait list for a suite). We are 2 adults (rusty and Karen) and 2 "kids" hannah will be 17 at cruise and Ethan will be 11.
Hello! My hubby & I (George & Rowena) have 2 daughters who would love to meet Hannah! Alyssa is 17 and Erika is 15. They are planning to go to the Vibe right after we have lunch on board. Hope to meet you guys!

I just wanted to say how excited I am that this group is so active! I would love to start to get to know everyone! Shall we do some questions?

Where you are from: St. Joseph, MI

Who you are going with: Husband & 2 teenage daughters (17 & 15)

Favorite travel (ie fave disney cruise or the best place you have travelled to): Peru (ABD 08/2010), Italy (12/2011 & 2013), Greece (12/2014), Japan (12/2009), DCL Fantasy Eastern Caribbean (04/2013), DCL Dream (02/2011 & 08/2013), Alaska (06/2008)
...around the world - EPCOT & MK, AK, HS yearly from 2005 to present...

If you were a Disney character which one would you be? Maybe Esmeralda to my husband's Quasimodo! LOL!

Here is are my answers:

Where you are from: Chicago

Who you are going with: husband and daughter (5)

Favorite travel (ie fave disney cruise or the best place you have travelled to):this will be only our 2nd cruise. We did a 7 night western car. On the Fantasy last October. I have been dying to go on another one. We tried this year, but we also like the Run Disney races and have quite a few this year (wdw half this past Jan, DL half (DDD!) in Aug and Wine & Dine) so no time for another cruise! My favorite place we have travelled has to be New Zealand for our honeymoon.

If you were a Disney character which one would you be? I wasn't sure my answer so I asked my daughter. Her response: "uhhhh I know ! you are Queen Miranda, Daddy is King Roland. Now I am Sophia the first!" Clearly we have a Disney Jr fan in the house. I am still thinking of my answer :)

Shelby

Hi everyone! Just spent the past hour catching up on this thread! My family (myself, husband, Briana 17 at sailing, and Alyssa 15 at sailing) will be on this cruise. We are in a 9C for this one. I have been to Copenhagen for business since the company I work for (Novo Nordisk) is based there, but will be the first everywhere else. Super excited for this cruise. We are also booked on the members cruise this August.

Michelle

Hi Michelle! My husband, George, myself (Rowena) and our 2 teenagers, Alyssa (17) & Erika (15) are also doing this 11 nt. cruise out of CPH. We'll be arriving in CPH on 6/26 to get acclimated before cruising. This is our 4th cruise with Disney. We're in Cat 5B. Our girls are so excited to make new friends (so are we!). They will be at the Vibe right after lunch on the first day. Hope to meet you on board.

See you soon!

I just looked on the Disney Cruise site and it looks like some additional categories opened up today. I am assuming this is because of the PIF date.

Anyone heard how we can expect the sea's to be?

Balfour Castle - sold out

Thanks a lot for this list! It was very helpful (and a little disappointing about Balfour Castle being sold out).

Thank you 3princessMommy for taking the time to post all of the excursion times! That is very helpful in planning ahead. I am a little confused about the Kristiansand cooking excursion. As our cruise is the only one to stop at Kristiansand (at least I believe that's so), I don't underrstand why it wouldn't be available if it wasn't sold out. This is definitely something we are interested in (as a lowly silver CC). So I'm curious what is going on with this excursion. We are mostLy doing private excursions, but have nothing booked for Stavenger and Kristiansand so will probably go DCL there.

The cooking class is now showing as Sold Out. The other day it was just showing not available. I bet it is a very small place and there are not many spaces. I would check though when it is your day to book excursions. It can always fluctuate.

I don't know why it was doing that before, however, the cooking class is now showing as sold out.

Thanks for the update. I'm curious what will be left by the time we can book. I get the feeling there are a lot of long time DCL cruisers on this sailing, so probably lots of gold and platinums. Fortunately in most ports we have already booked privately. We just couldn't really find anything too interesting to do in Kristiansand so thought we'd wait and see what Disney came up with.

I'll probably be bugging you guys for tips on what's left in Stavenger (really want the fjord cruise!) and Kristiansand when it gets closer to our booking opening.

Thanks again!

Happy to check anything for you. I don't know why the cooking class was weird - but there are DEFINITELY a lot of platinum sailors on this cruise. Palo brunch is also booked up except for the Reykjavik arrival day. So when you can book, check that day first for a Palo brunch - didn't know they were going to offer brunch on a technically non-sea day. (Lots of Palo dinners though.)

Only 10 days until I can start making my reservations :)

In the meantime...

I am trying to pre-arrange something special to be in our room when we board because it is out honeymoon. However, DCL does not have the option to order anything in Copenhagen. Does anyone know a way I can get some flowers and maybe a fruit tray and some champagne for our sailing?

Do the European cruise have Mickey Bars on them? I am not sure if they will have a provider in Europe. (please don't slam me, but I love them)

Will we have the usual menus, or will they have special menus depending on our destination?

I am curious what DCL will do for the 4th of July. We are in port that night in Reykjavik, and it won't be getting dark so they couldn't do fireworks even if they wanted too.

On the 2010 Baltic, there were no Mickey bars, but on the 2014 Med, there were. I'm assuming that they will have them, but you never know what could happen with new supply chains, so fingers crossed.

I'm surprised that you can't order the food/drink welcome packages in your cabin - those don't come from off the ship, they are prepared on board. No ideas for deliveries though in Copenhagen.

ON the 2010 Baltic, we had special Scandinavian and Themed menus, so I'm guessing they'll do something similar. July 4th will be a challenge though because many people will be off the ship. I'm hoping we'll make it back for late dining, but not holding my breath. I don't like paying for food off the ship, when I've already paid for the food onboard. But I would guess they might have a special 4th of july theme menu. I've never been on the ship on the 4th, but I've heard on other sailings that they do mark the occasion.

When you choose the In-room gifts & Shopping when logged into your cruise on the DCL site it does not have Copenhagen as a port. When I spoke with someone at DCL, they said that it was unavailable at that port.

They do have Barcelona and Venice listed, so I suspect it may be do to vendor or tax issues.

Must be a tax thing - they can't sell anything while in port maybe??? Who knows. Sorry about that. I bet you can order room service as soon as you board though to have delivered to the stateroom in the afternoon.
