What is going on with the FE's? Whats the scoop on it.:)popcorn::

So far we have about 23 cabins involved, and alot of kids. The cutoff date to join is April 1st, so next week I'll probably PM everyone's info- we don't have alot of cabins yet though- as alot of us are in Cat 12's. So when we get that info- I'll foward that to everyone.:goodvibes

Wow, Brooklyn your designs are awesome!! I'm so excited to do all of my magnets, and my FE gifts- I think I'm gonna start tonight!!.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

Sorry I just had to SCREAM!!!!

I have been on the phone all morning changing and switching all of our reservations. I finally get everything done and call DCL to tell them we need now need to be picked up at Coronado Springs Resort. She asks me to hold (sure I have done that all morning, why not hold some more!!!! :rotfl:) Then she comes back on the phone to tell me that they don't pick up from there either!!!!! :rotfl: You have to be kidding me!

Now I am back on the phone with WDW trying to change my reservation once again.

Transfers other then DCL are looking mighty good right now! Anyone want to share????

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I think that would be a cool idea to have a Dis bus! A poster on another thread mentioned that she has traveled to the port several times with other Dis-ers in buses, hummerzines, and vans. It would be cool to travel to the port with others in our group! I'll be glad to ditch our rental car to be on a Dis-er bus with others!

Ok, here are the resorts that I know Disney will pick up to go to ship: GF, Contemp., Poly, AKL, BC,YC, both Port ones, and CB
Those are the ones that I know for sure do. Call DCL and they can tell you for sure the list and then you can decided and really your TA should know this also.:)
What is also nice is if you are staying at the resort they will take you main luggage to the boat and you just have to worry about your carry ones you take that day.:)
Also it is a pain but you can stay at another WDW resort and then take a taxi over to one of the resorts that will have a bus that will take you to the ship but then you have to take all of the luggage with you.YUCK on that part.

Hi everyone - boy, has this board been busy! I'm finally done with my trial - we won:banana: it was a case I've been working on for 9 yrs, so its a huge relief. The old saying that the wheels of justice turn slowly is very very true. Lets just say I turned 50 in the middle of the trial - when I started I was only 41 - that seems soooo young!
Anyway, we were able to make all our reservations- we're doing the white-knuckle speedboat ride in Key West, Nativeways reef, rays and rum point beach in Cayman and 12:00 Royal dolphin swim in Cozumel:cool2::yay::woohoo:. Palo brunch is set for thursday morning. We'd be up for sharing a taxi to Chankanaab. Diane, we have early seating and would be glad to sit with you, but my dd is just turning 11, so she may be a little young to be interesting to your son. (I'm sure she'd feel differently, especially if he's cute - she's starting the boy-crazy thing waaay early!!!):)
Now for a stupid question, how in the world do you make the magnets everyone's talking about? I am clueless!

Yes I got the list from DCL. So silly that Coronado is not included! UGH! I called back WDW and all they had to offer was Deluxe resorts and it was just not worth the extra money. IMO nothing compares to the cruise so I would rather not spend the extra money on a Deluxe resort.

I did however call DCL back and got one of the best CM's. She was awesome!!! She told me that she could book a room for me before. The Coronado Springs was going to cost me $550.00 for 2 nights with the Quick Service Dining Plan (no tickets bc we are going the military tickets). She said she could get me The Swan and Dolphin for $220 for the 2 nights and my $70 I am paying for transfers would cover the airport to the hotel, the hotel to the ship and then the ship to Caribbean Beach after the cruise! We have always wanted to stay at the Swan and Dolphin but never wanted to pay for the airport transportation when it is free through WDW.

I would have loved to have shared a ride with other DISers but I think with this option we are just going to keep it like it is. I am glad that is taken care of.

Now I am just trying to decide if I should stay at the swan and the dolphin at the end of the trip too. For $110 a night that is a really good deal. I need to go figure out how much I am spending on Caribbean Beach and see if it will be worth it.

Has anyone stayed at the Swan and Dolphin before???

What has my DW (Texas Disney Fan) done NOW?!? I guess the Disney cruise is to far away and she just can't wait that long. 2 days ago she starts looking at Carnival cruises out of Galveston (we seem to take turns doing that occasionally, seeing if we can find a good deal). Well, when I saw what she was doing I kinda started egging her on saying there are some pretty good prices for the week of my birthday. At work, she has just finished a big annual project that is always stressful, so she didn't need much egging. Anyway, shes looking and occasionally mentions a couple of things and just continues looking. Yesterday, after work, she tells me she has talked with a Carnival representative and gotten a firm price quote with our past guest discounts and stuff. Next thing I know, this morning she calls Carnival back and books a 7 night cruise out of Galveston starting April 12!! This cruise stops at Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. Of course, she used the Disney Visa and now its all about getting more points to use on spa treatments on the Magic in June! :rotfl: She's even booked 2 excursions and done all of the online signing in and other paperwork. What has she done?!?! :confused3

(:rotfl: :woohoo: :rotfl2: :worship:)

Well congrats on the closure and outcome of your trial. After 9 years, I am sure you don't know what to do with yourself. :rotfl:

We have not stayed at the Swan and Dolphin but we have stayed both at BC and YC and love the location. I have always heard wonderful things about Swan and Dolphin. That is an excellent rate.

We haven't but my brother has and I have lots of friends that have and they all like it very much.:)

We decided on the Swan and Dolphin for both the beginning and the end. It was going to cost us $950 for 4 nights with the quick service dining plan at the Caribbean Beach....it is only $440 for Swan and Dolphin. I just can't beat it!

My husband is thrilled. He has always wanted to stay there so he is really happy.

I love DCL!

The lady said that the Swan and Dolphin used to be $440 a night, then they reduced it by half and now it is half of half! Yay!!!:banana::banana:

Now I am on hold once again to cancel more reservations! I will be so happy when this is all done

Brooklyn thanks so much for the door sign...now if I only get to use it. My DH works in law enforcement and isn't a big fan of me putting anything w/our name on our door, or even talking and meeting up with people on the dis:worried: but i have been following along on this thread, even though i've been a bit anti social...anywho someone was asking how to make the door magnets and i copied this post from cruise critic:

I buy magnetic sheets to make mine. DCL will allow magnets only . You arnt allowed to attach them any other way to the door due to damage it could cause.
Some places sell the magnetic paper in a roll, that doesn like to lay flat and is more diffeicult to work with, so dotn buy it unless your experienced working with it.
Just get a package of the sheets. They are the same size as a sheet of paper and you find them usually with the speciality computer paper, Like forms for making cards, business cards, iron on transfer etc... I think there are 5 pages per pack and will cost about $11.00 depending on where you get them.

I have found them at some Walmarts, not all. Stpales and Michaels crafts store. You might even google search on line and find them that way too.

Then you have 2 good easy options to make them.
since they come the same size as paper you can print off a picture from your computer and they look professional.

here is a site for a few that work for that size, you have to save them to your documents and print from there.

There are hundreds to choose from if you keep your eyes open. Some of these have blank places where if you have a paint program you can write a message on them too. Or just buy letters that are stickers and put on the signs.

You can also look in craft stores orscrapbook stores at stickers and make up your own design and stick them on the magnetic sheet to amke a sign. I have done it many times. They have tons of Disney stickers, tropical stickers, even some with the names of some of the islands you go to.

Just lay it all out before applying the stickers because there is NO fixing after that. There are some 3D stickers that really look great but they are more spendy.
Kids and grandkids love to use the stickers to make their own signs too. Your door will hold 4 or 5 signs if you place them carefully or change to a new one each day.

Remember there is NO right or wrong. Just make it any way you like and have FUN with it!!

You can make magnets and not put your name on them. Whatever works for you. Most people on the ship do not even have a decorated door....:scared1: but boy do I excited when I see one....

Yes I can understand concearn for safety...I have been FLAMED on these boards and I STILL DO NOT agree with some of DCL's policies with ANYONE being able to enter the kids clubs. I understand that not just anyone can leave with my child but I am COMPETLEY against the fact that anyone can just go in. I was torn apart on these boards and I still have not changed my mind. :thumbsup2

Here is a blank one just incase...

BlankCalendar.png

So, I changed my mind again :headache:... seems like I will be renting a car to drive to port instead of using DCL (got a rental for $40 via budget).

NOW comes the hard part... WHERE to STAY?? My DD can't make up her mind (she is definitely not an advance planner). Do we stay in Orlando/WDW or Port Canaveral area?? I would love to go to Downtown Disney. We have 76 days to decide.

BTW sorry if I drive everyone crazy with this....:flower3:

Just booked the Dolphin Encounter at 1pm. With the 10% discount it was $246 for me and the kids. DH will just observe. I need to print the $2 off coupon for admission for him.

Nikki, aren't you doing the Encounter at 1pm with your DD too? We would love to do the van/taxi share with everyone. Plan on going to Chank early, then the Dolphin, and probably head back to the ship afterwards to shower/change/rest before dinner and the Pirate party.
