Hello. My family is on this cruise in a category 12...I posted several pages back. Anyway, I just had a quick question about booking excursions. Do you have to pay at the time of the booking if you book thru DCL? Our cruise budget seems to be getting smaller and smaller. DD11 just got her braces which adds another payment, both vehicles need brakes and I had to get a crown put on one of my teeth that I had to make a down payment on and pay over the next 3 months. This was the $ I was using to get our passports with. Will anyone else be cruising with just the birth certificates and DL? Thanks for filling me in.pirate:

Your excursions are not charged at time of booking. You have 3 days prior to cruising to cancel, and if you don't cancel you are charged then. So that gives you another 85 or so days till you have to pay. Non-DCL excursions can be less expensive, and depending on what you want to do, there are many very affordable alternatives. And if you do book with non-DCL excursions, ask them about additional discounts. They won't offer them! I was able to get the royal dolphin swim for $119 instead of $149 by asking about specials! They offered me the latest time 3:30pm swim which works out fine in our schedule as we are late dining. They still had a few spots left yesterday. Anyone who's interested, PM me and I will forward the travel agent's contact info who offered the deal.:goodvibes

Our 3 kids will only have their birth certificates and DH and I only decided to just go ahead and get the passports since we have the money and figure they will be required at some point and by then they'll be more expensive. But up until a week ago we were willing to just go w/our bc and dl. If I didn't have it in the budget I'd not worry about them.

Thanks for the quick replies! I was hoping I wouldn't have to pay on March 30th ...it will be DDs 12th B.day on the 31st and while we're not giving her anything extravagant I was trying to budget. (She will probably want $ for the cruise.)

I would love to do the dolphin swim...I just don't know if DS8 would back out at the last minute after I already paid. I would hate not to book him and then he actually end up wanting to participate. He LOVED snorkeling at Typhoon Lagoon last year and would have done it all day if I could have held up to the freezing water (3 times was my max) but on our latest trip he freaked as soon as he put his face in the water and saw the stingrays and wouldn't do it. Same thing with parasailing at CC. I'm terrified they would back out but I know they would have a blast if they tried it.

They are both a little shy and DH isn't much of a water person. Anyway, maybe I will book it just in case.

I just recently got mine and DH's birth certificates and they don't look anything like the ones I have for the kids. Different colors, paper, format. I sent away for their's right after thier births and they are the official bcs. I'm thinking South Carolina must have just changed the format and paper? I'm just paranoid that since they look different that there will be a problem. Maybe I will send away for a "new" copy of theirs. Anyne else have this issue?

Hey Everyone,

The economy finally bit where it hurts. I received a nice little pay-cut at work and DW's job is still looking pretty tenouous.

We made the decision last night to cancel the cruise. We are really heartbroken and devastated as we were so looking forward to this. One conciliation is that we will still head down to Fort Wilderness as that will only be a fraction of the cruise cost. We probably won't do any Disney Parks except Typhoon Lagoon. But it will still be vacationing with the mouse.:mickeyjum

Have fun without us and it was great meeting all of you!
I am so sorry that you won't be sailing with us. I hope that your DW keeps her job and your pay cut is only temporary.

as long as theirs have the raised seal they're fine. I had to get a new one for me because I couldn't find mine. My DH was so tattered (he's 45) I wasn't sure if they'd accept it w/the passport app, but it had the raised seal and they did. So if you have the raised seal on them, don't sweat it.

Anytime is fine for me long as we have enough time to get back to our staterooms for the drill:cool2: which is at 4 then the sail away party:cool1:
Promenade Lounge is a perfect SPOT!!!!!!!
What does everyone think of meeting at 3:00? :confused3

I may not be able to make it... crossing fingers I get on the ship in time to begin with. But will try!!!

That sounds like a good time..

Ok. So now I am thinking of changing our transfers. I have us schedule for DCL transfers but now I am thinking of changing the first leg. I want to be able to get there earlier and with less of a crowd.

I have asked a question of main board about which company is the best.

Who knows, I can't decide. :confused3
