The Pirate Soul Museum sounds like a pretty interesting place to go, if you like pirates. http://www.piratesoul.com According to Fodor's, its a $10 million attraction and has a disney-produced three-dimensional sound program that takes you belowdecks into a completely dark mock prison.:scared1: :scared1: You can walk there from the cruise ship.
Here's a review too: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/orl-piratessoul08sep21,0,2263966.story There is also a DCL excursion to this with a scavenger hunt but would be very easy to do on your own as well.:goodvibes

Ok, NONE of them have raised seals. The new ones I just got for myself and DH have one of those strips in the paper that you can see when you hold it up to light but the children's do not. Ugggh! Maybe I can come up with $$ for passports...

Have you looked into the Passport card? They are cheaper. They are the size of a credit card and fit in your wallet. One drawback is that they are not for air travel. They are only for land and sea entry. Here is a link to the website.

http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html

Like I said, it is not usable for air travel, but since you were going to be using birth certificates and as I understand it birth certificates won't be usable for air travel, I thought maybe you would be interested in this.

Anyone trying Priceline to stay at an area hotel near the airport the night before the cruise? I just used them for a hotel in Las Vegas last month and got great rates for a 4 star hotel. I'm looking for a 2.5 star by the airport with a free shuttle and breakfast. No need for anything fancy as we are just going to crash and get up, eat breakfast and get on our way. Any priceline experts out there? :surfweb:

I can not really speak on priceline. I have used them a couple of times with success and I have also been burned by them before also. However, here is a link to a Fairfield Inn that we used last December for a late night arrival. Its free shuttle was very timely and it has free breakfast. I look and the rate is $89 for 6/12/09. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I'll look at them too! :goodvibes Hotwire had some good prices too for airport area hotels. I like to have lots of options! :cool1:

Heck - I don't even totally understand how the FE work yet even after reading the FE Thread. Do we get something for each cabin? Something for everyone in the cabin? Something for the DIS Meet?...HELP!!!!!

I think we are all keeping it flexible. Do what you are comfortable with? If it just 1 item per Diser or stateroom or, something for everyone. Also, it can be anything, something homemade, or little things. I have seen so many possiblities talk about and pictures of on the boards.

I think most people would just do something once during the cruise.

Remember its about having fun and getting to know some of our fellow cruisers. :cool1:

Are you using DCL transfer or a private service?

I think you would be fine either way. You may need to claim your luggage and bring it with you. Actually MCO is very quick to send the luggage to the Baggage Claim Area.

Thanks ~ we are going to use DCL... to expensive any other way for just 2 people.

DCL says to tag your luggage & they will handle it from the airport but I am leary & think I will just get it ourselves.

I knew I should have pick the day before flight but wanted to cut costs anywhere I could.

I am sure I will bump into all of you eventually if not on the first day.

Wanted to chime in because we have done FE three times and it was so much fun! Coming back to the cabin and finding goodies during the week is a treat for everyone! My kiddos loved getting surprises and checking the FE daily. For example one year I did tattos and rubber duckies for the kids and mini beach balls and another year I did bubble gum pirate coins and glow necklaces for the pirate party! pirate:

The DIS meet on the first day is nice because you see new faces that become familiar faces during the week as you run into one another...
The gift exchange is easy as well because when we have participated everyone who brought a gift puts there name in a "hat" and then everyone takes a turn drawing out a name and then they get that person's gift after they intro themselves. Also some people do group pics and prizes for tops and 00 and etc.... It just depends on what people want to do..... :cutie:

That is good info. I had been a little unsure about the Dis Meet gift exchange but now that you have explained it, it sounds like a lot of fun. Do you want to help us organize the meet? :goodvibes

I can be hopefully helpful for that part!!!! We can meet at 3pm and then and I will see what I can do as far as planning and if anyone else is interested! I think we will have plenty of time to meet and greet before the drill

Also wanted to share that if anyone is up for DIS meet at the Radisson maybe by the pool on Friday night.... Gimme a shout out and we all can hang out maybe for drinks by the pool:rolleyes1 :cool2:

One more thing Honest
Just a thought!!!! In the Past all of the DIS Groups pick a shirt or a color and then all wear the same the day we get to Port and it is totally cool to identify each other...... Hint Hint we still have some time to pick a design from the Disney Shopping Site:rolleyes:

The shirts sound cool! Are we also still going to do the rubber braclets?

I am up for the DisMeet at 3 on the first day- and with whatever you want us to do for the gift exchange.

Also, we are staying at the Radisson on Friday night- and will definately be at the pool on Friday night- so I'm in for that as well. I looked on the website- and their pool is awesome!!:thumbsup2

I was thinking of making t-shirts from a design from one of the Creative Dis-sign sections of the board or wearing our Castaway Cay tshirts. I am getting so excited!!!:dance3:

The shirts sound cool! Are we also still going to do the rubber braclets?

We got some on our last cruise- someone ordered them ahead of time- and we all paid them when we got on the ship. We wore them the whole cruise, and I still have mine in my jewelry box.:goodvibes

Anybody have any good plans this weekend? I have a scrapbook event tomorrow 10am-4pm, then a birthday party afterwards. Sunday I am making my Disney World dining reservations at 7am!!

We're going to see Taylor Swift tonight at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and we have tickets to ZZ Top for Sunday afternoon at the Rodeo. We've been off all week for Spring Break. Didn't do too much - saving for the cruise!:rotfl:

Sounds like fun!! Jordan's spring break is April 9-20-that's a long time to try to get babysitters for. LOL I got DH watching her the week she's off- he has lots of vacation time, I'm keeping her 1 day, my friend is keeping her 1 day too. She's going to be all over the place!!:rotfl2:

I found a taxi company that will do a narrated 1 hour tour for $65 for a 7 passenger van. Their site is: www.keywesttaxi.com For us, this might be a good choice as we know what we want to see, and have them drop us off at the museum we want to tour (prob the Hemmingway house for us).:goodvibes

Saturday we are going on my DD's first college campus tour. She will be a senior in the fall & gettting an early start on where she possibly wants to go.

Taylor Swift is AWESOME - my DS and I seen her last year with Rascal Flatts. Have fun!!!!

That's a cool idea. I like both idea's the t-shirts and the braclets. I would be willing to order and pay for 2 of each if we decide to do it. Just not sure how to organzie that...I know I don't have the $ to pay for all of them up front and take orders... I have a good and cheap website for t-shirts though. www.holyshirt.com
